Unfortunately Cal's has closed. I chatted with Cal on social media and he confirmed that he has closed and that the place is for sale. Too bad. This place was a gem.

Cal's - really Carl - Cal is his son - is a wonderful setting for a relaxed meal. Have the lobster grilled - get the bean dip with chips before the lobster arrives. Take some pics as the views are outstanding. There is covered and...uncovered seating. All of the food is hand prepared and served right away. Cal's is one of our must go to's when we visit Roatan. It is just past Kristi's Overlook for a location reference. Have fun! I'd recommend afternoon or early evening for the best pics.More

They have GREAT FOOD. Menu is on chalkboard because it changes depending on what is locally available. Views are great if you go for lunch. For dinner, views are twinkly lights in the distant tree shrouded hills. Cal has VARIED times he is open so...pay attention to any sign you see. This time it was open only Wed-Thur-Fri from 10am to 8pm.More

Went to Kal's cantina for lunch. My husband and I had lobster and our daughter dorade and we were all happy with our choice. The fish was fresh and very well prepared. The view from the terrasse is amazing and it added an extra flavour...to our dishes. The only thing that could be improved is the service, as our waiter was really nice but quite inexperienced and didn't speak any other language other than Spanish so we had to rely on another guy or the owner.More

Visited Kal's one night at the recommendation of Marcia at Castaway Cove. It was just about perfect. I miss it.

The food is terrific and the view is unbeatable. By far one of the best places to eat on the island.

We arrived on a hot, humid day for lunch. The cooling breeze and the view overlooking the island were spectacular. Kal's is off the beaten tourist path, but well known and patronized by the locals. Unfortunately they were out of their famous key-lime pie, but...the coconut cream pie was extremely good. Three of us each had a drink, entree and dessert for about $20. And the view is priceless.More

We ate lobster and had beer. Sat in the cool ocean breeze. I enjoyed coconut pie, delicious. The fourth person had wings. The service was great. We arrived before a large group so we had the place to ourselves for a time.

One of the most scenic restaurants in Roatan. Kal's food was simple but excellent. We had fish tacos, jerk wings, and mahi mahi. All were fantastic. As for the Key Lime Pie....we loved it

After reading several reviews Cal's was on our must visit list. Maybe I expected too much. The view was nice, but I thought everything else was just okay. There wasn't anything memorable about the entire experience.

Have been here for lunch a couple of times. The view is spectacular and the food is very good. It is worth a trip here just for a piece of Cal's Island Lime Pie.
