Overpriced with poor customer service. Your best bet is to avoid. This was once a good place from what I understand. The food was not seasoned, we had to add salt at the table as they seemed to forget in the kitchen. Upon ordering wait...staff argued with us about the doneness of the meat and whether it was their responsibility to ask or not. Bad food, poor service, expensive.More

On Saturdays Feijoada is a "must" for me. Have tried the most famous Feijoadas in SP, Bolinha, Rubaiyat, and more. No one match up to the Saturday Feijoada at Gato que Ri. As restaurant is it OK but nothing special. The pizzas are quite good,...the rest is just ordinary. Service is always excellent even when the place is 100% full.More

This is a great option Downtown Sao Paulo, among it's customers traditional families, business people working nearby and others looking for a good meal at fair price. I suggest to look for the traditional Brazilian plates like Feijoada and Rabada instead of those semi international...ones. Today I ordered fish with legums which did not impress me at all but I got tasty Brazilian traditional plates there with outstanding flavor, in the past. Service, waiters are polite, receptionist will welcome you with a smile and bill will come fast when ordered. To improve I would say that waiters, although polite, are highly distracted and I always see customers trying to get their attention by raising arms while waiters look nowhere. As I'm a frequent customer, it has called my attention more than once. Despite the small Delta, I recommend visiting preferable on Wednesdays and Saturdays.More

Feijoada is a mix of pork meat and sausages boilled on black beens and cooked together on a Pressure Cooker. Usually is served together but some restaurants as O Gato que Ri U can find a big table with all the ingredients separated on big...bows and U can choose what U prefer. U ear the Feijoada with white rice, Cassava Flour, Cabbage braised and orange for a better digestion. On Gato que Ri U will find the best Feijoada. Be careful to don’t eat to much because is so good that U can forget to stop eating.More

I've been going there my whole life and I'm so glad that it still has maintained its excellent quality. Best lasagna in Sao Paulo. Also try the carne brasada. It's excellent.

I have been coming to São Paulo, on a regular basis every November, due to studying reasons and since 1984, I have been coming to "O Gato que Ri". All I can tell you is that it never ever disappointed me. Yesterday I was there...once again as part of my November, 2016 visit to São Paulo and ordered a spinach Taglierini with 'Primavera' sauce ( buffalo muzzarella, dried tomatoes, basil and red spiced sauce as main course) by the Chef's suggestion. I drank a Chilean sauvignon wine. All I can tell is it was fantastic! Everything on the table was superb! From the entrée to the final espresso: everything wonderful. I loved it. Looking forward to returning again!More

This restaurant has the italian spirit with its menu and the service. But actually, we indented to try something more brazilian and we were not dissapointed. We had beef and fish both served with some specific south american ingredients. It was really good prepared and...tasty. As a desert we had a great chocolate cake. Unfortunately we know just a bit Portuguese, but it wasn't a problem in this restaurant. They gave us English menu and the waiter was speaking perfect English. And everybody likes the cat style.More
