Preparation of Costela over hours makes it very original taste. Good selection of salad and potatoes.
Good Caipirinhas and they offer Seramalt beer.
Good recommendation a little bit expensive

The service is excellent and the food as well. While they are known for the "costela" (rib steak), the other food is excellent as well. They have two unusual options, tambaqui rib (costela de tambaqui) and pintado. Both are fish with excellent consistency, similar to a soft steak. Both come boneless because the bones are really darn hard to miss due to size. When ordering the "costela", he sure to request a "costela magra", that means rib with very little fat. If you don't, it is too greasy for American taste. They really do make the best costela in town!

They are famous for their ribs, but they serve all different kind of Brazilian dishes.
The food is good but quite expensive for their service and the meal served.

They have a good variety beef, but also serve fish, pork and salads. Their flagship dish is beaf ribs, cooked very slowly. Food is very goo. Very good atmosphere, comfortable, but not fancy. Can be very crowded on the weekends (closes at about 3PM Sundays).

A regular place with a very good ribs. You can have fish also. The food is very good and the service is great. But it is not a fancy restaurant.

Great food. File Mignon was very well seasoned and cooked and the side dishes were plentiful. It was a bit pricey, but the food was so good and filling that I didn't mind. I sould definitely return if I'm ever in Campinas again.

Ate lunch here during my visit to Campinas September 2014.
Around Sunday at 2pm, the restaurant was about 75%. A very good atmosphere, and they helped me to my seat with an English menu. I chose the ribs as others have recommended, got the serving for one person, and ordered a beer.
Salad, bread came out first, plenty of veggies which is great since I've had so much meat in Brazil. The ribs were amazing, the seasoned onions were a great complimentary side dish, along with rice, it was all very amazing.
The staff came around several times to make sure everything was okay. I stayed at the Mercure which was only a 5 minute walk from the hotel. I only wish I came here earlier. It was a great experience, though expensive since you can get an all-you-can-eat churrascaria for less price, the food and service was amazing.

I first ate here in 1997. I enjoyed my meal so much then that I have kept the business card every since. I was fortunate enough to return to Carro de Boi fourteen years later. Happily the restaurant is still going strong. As in the past I ordered the rib roast. While the ribs were cooking I was served the bread, salad, beans and rice, fried potatoes and garnishes. One really nice thing about Carro de Boi is that they bring the ribs out and slice off some meat then return the core back to the wood fired grill for cooking the rest of the meat. The waiters make several trips to make sure that the meat is at the perfect state of done-ness when you eat it. I had the Papaya creme for dessert. It was world-class. Bar none the best I've ever had.

I love meat and this restaurant serves the right amount. Their fries are delicious and are served really hot and deep fried. I was we'll received and the waiter was always ready to take my order. It may be consider expensive, but I thought the price was fair due to the treatment and quality of the food.

I often go to Campinas and lunch at this restaurant is a must do. The service is good, the meals are delicious. The price is standard for the quality you get. I cannot recommend this place enough.
