Quite close to Café Colombo, this very traditional coffee shop is not quite as glamourous but serves good pastries and also meals at lunchtime. Prices ok, service could be better

We ducked in here to get out of a downpour and could not have been happier. The sweets are homey and traditional, not fancy, and the 19th century decor is in perfect condition. A great place to stop in central Rio.
