My wife and I just walk pass by this restaurant while we were strolling around the main street of Arashiyama not very far from Randen train station. Look like it is a coffee shop on the ground floor where you can get icecream cone to...go and the restaurant on the second floor. They have at least 4 set menu shown in the sealed plate matt size menu. All of them offer similar type of food or at least way of cooking, e.g. orderve, sashimi, steam or boil dish, fried dish, soup, and a "Tofu dish" as a s⁷pecialty such as Teoke Usuba or Tofu skin which you dipped in some kind of sauce while another set had boiled tofu in a small pot which you have to use provided strainer to take it and put into empty bowl and put some garnish on, the others are a bit different like that. Over all I would say the food was good but we did not had a chance to try dessert. I have read some review here said that they won't allow to charge the phone here but our table was near the power socket so we just plugged in our adapter and no staff ask us not to do so. Anyway some of the restaurant did that.More

The dessert was average, however restaurant would not allow guest to charge their phones/tablet in their cafe despite power point it being next to the table, I felt the staff was unhelpful.

We followed the trip advisor and went to Ine for dessert in the late afternoon. Tried the sundae. Place is ok but dessert is just so so. There are a lot of solid ice inside the ice-cream. In fact you can easily find a better...one in nearby convenience store. Clearly overrated.More

Great place close to the Randen tram station. Serve great Tofu set meals which is presented nicely. There are a few to choose from but if i remembered right, just the main dish portion was different, so depending what you like to eat most order...the set with a bigger portion of the main dish. All the tofu dishes was very tasty, never had a tofu meal like this before in my life, but i am sure many different restaurant serve it like this in japan. I have to say the best was the miso soup, not salty at all, intact a hint of sweetness to the soup. Usually after drinking miso soup makes you thirsty right away but this one did not. go give this place a tryMore

We found this place after a long day at bamboo forest and the money park. You get a full set of a warm broth, rice and your choice of entree and sides, the tofu is a specialty here at this vegetarian restaurant. I am NOT...a vegetarian and I was very fulfilled here. Don’t miss out. Well priced and a great view of the neighborhood area. Good for large groups and great service.More

We came here for an afternoon dessert. The restaurant was on the 1st floor of the building, above the green tea store. It was a nice looking restaurant with large windows that had a good view to the street below. As with all Japanese green...tea dessert places you had to order one item per customer. Our desserts came in bowls that looked like bamboo and had an assortment of jelly, gelatinous balls, red beans and glace cherries. Delicious!More

This is one of the many tofu specialty restaurants in Kyoto. “Iné” (pronounced “yi-né”) has two restaurants in the Arashiyama district of Kyoto. This is their main one near Randen Arashiyama train station. The other one is its “Kita-misé” or the North Restaurant. I believe...they offer a very similar menu. Besides the regular soft white tofu we know, they offer “yuba” as well. On the ground floor of the restaurant, an artisan is almost always making “yuba” out from a semi-boiling soy milk. “Yuba” is commonly translated into tofu skin or bean curd sheet. It is widely enjoyed in China and Japan. We ordered a set menu with tofu, yuba and deep-fried tofu and usual rice and miso-soup. Service was prompt and our meals were ready within a few minutes. Tofu and yuba are very simple ingredients but full of protein. They are very easy to one’s stomach, but they do not last very long, thus making you hungry soon.More

If you're in Arashiyama, I highly recommend coming here for lunch. I was able to snag a window seat and enjoyed a rather scenic meal. A lot of locals and tourists alike come here so that should be a good indication of its authenticity and...delicious food. I ordered their obanzai set which came with a mini nabe pot (chock full of yuba tofu!), mochi dengaku, miso soup, rice, tsukemono, goma tofu, chawan-mushi, and warabi mochi. So. Good. I make it a point to eat lunch here every time that I'm in Arashiyama. Do come early though because the line will start forming before they even open.More

Stop by this restaurant at about 11.45am to beat the crowd and queue. We were spot on as the shop have just opened and we were the 2nd customer and we're seated on the ground floor overlooking the koi pond. Ordered 2 different sets and...was surprised with the nice food presentation and taste of the food. A very nice environment and great taste of the different types of Tofu.More

Yuba is (yet another) tofu/soy bean-related food item. As I'd been living in the States for the last 11 years, I hadn't had it in years. This restaurant's Yuba dish is very tasty and filling. While the large array of small plates may seem intimidating,...Japanese food is generally very light and easy on the digestive system. This restaurant offers menus in other languages, but as with any shop in Japan, the staff's English leaves a little to be desired.More

The place is filled with locals so guessed it serves pretty authentic soy bean mea. And true enough the food was delicious even for a non tofu lover like myself! Highly recommended if you are in Arashiyama.

It was late lunch and chilly day. Food was a little bit sweet but not salty. I ate yuba at the first time but different taste with tofu. Steamed egg was best. 전체적으로 조금 달고 두부와는 다른 식감이었습니다.

We eat a lot of tofu and soy products in our daily diet so we know what is good and our expectation is high. My comments on this restaurant are: tasty, creative, great presentation, reasonably priced, attentive services, central location. What more can you ask...for? The best is yuba - tofu skin. It's so silky and devine!!More

My wife and I had a hard looking for an authentic yuba(tofu skin) in Gion area. We found this place when we went to the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove. We had dinner at this restaurant. 'Twas the best choice. If you're not a fan of tofu,...this is not the place to eat. I'm not a vegetarian but they had all kinds of tofu prepared from main course to dessert. They even have yuba doughnut. We love this place. Highly recommended!More
