實在太有驚喜了!鯛魚加上濃郁芝麻醬令人一試難忘! What a huge surprise! The combination of the sashimi and sesame sauce is perfect!

We ordered the tai chazuke gozen set meal. The fish was fabulous. It goes really well with the sesame sauce. And one way of eating it was to eat it with sesame sauce with the rice and hot tea broth. Really enjoy the meal!

Queued for 40 minutes and the food was up to standard. Not too surprising enough to compensate our long waiting time though

Was a very nice experience! They had recommendations on how to tackle their platter. It was very interesting and worth the visit.

We had the Sea Bream Taichaduke for lunch as part of a travel group. The meal was terrific and unique so far on this long trip. I’d advise to go early or late to avoid a very long noon lunch queue.

lunch hour line can be VERY LONG, try to avoid lunch hour if possible overall, the meal is good, rice is superb, fish is tasty, and it's not expensive

Taishou Hanana has 3 to 4 main, we tried 3 of them. The best one is the premium set lunch (limited qty per day) which includes both cooked and sashimi. The other one is a cooked sea bream (I think it was marinated in mirin...and miso sauce). I prefer the tangy sauce used in the premium set lunch on the sea bream collars. The third one we tried is sea bream sashimi which can be made into Tai-chazuke. Other side dishes and black bean tea are good too. The miso soup is a bit heavy in sodium but that seems to be a norm in Japan.More

We had the lunch set. The tittle tells it, over cooked fish in a seafood restaurant is unforgivable. Apparently my son’s sashimi dish was better. Children’s dish a bit pathetic as well, although nice that they had one.

We decided to eat here as a last minute decision. Also because the Unagi restaurant down the road had a ridiculously long wait. Even then we waited around 1 hr here as it was peak season and a long line had already formed. I'm glad...we ate here as the food is rather unique. It was our first time eating sea bream prepared in this way. The taste is quite unique with the sesame sauce and is their specialty. I would also recommend their moochi dessert which is quite different from the normal moochi that you find elsewhere.More

The waitress was extremely rude and impatient at the line, shouting at the customers when we were enquiring about the menu. She said one order one person and we understood. Only wanted to clarify if a dessert order counted as one order. Dissapointing and distasteful...especially in a cultured place like Japan. I hope that there is improvement to the attitude of this particular waitress (the one with short hair). Nevertheless, we are forgiving ppl and we'll let it go.More

It was a delightful lunch, we reached there at 11.10 and it was already full.. so go early to get seats.. nevertheless as it's winter I guess it's not peak season, queues did not form up. We had the recommended set, costs about 3.2k jpy,...the most expensive lunch set but we felt it was a great meal! U get quite a bit of dishes and dessert as well. Sea bream is their specialty, you get sashimi, fried and deep fried, and the option to make it into a Chazuke (Japanese porridge)! Would go again!!More

I came before lunch hour and were second in line, but waiting time was quick. Beautiful restaurant with warm interior. I sat on the second floor facing the window; nice view!. I had the Chazuke set and it was amazing! plenty of rice and there...are several side dishes, such as pickles and steamed eggs; the set also includes a dessert; all delicious!. I also ordered Mikan juice; very refreshing and fragrant. Considering the varieties and quality of food served, the price is well worth it. Service is quick and efficient.More

I was recommended to this restaurant, Taisho Hanana by a friend. I was told to try it out. I must say I wasn't disappointed at all. We arrived a little late for lunch at 2 pm but thankfully it's still open until 5 pm. We...were lucky that there was only a couple of people in front of us in the queue. There was a heater set up outside in the waiting area to help keep us warm as the temperature outside was a chilly 3-4 degrees C. Our orders were taken while in the queue as there was only 1 omakase course or kids meal to choose from. We were invited in after about 20mins in the queue. The restaurant was nicely decorated and furnished with wood. Service was prompt and pleasant. The seabream sashimi in a sesame seed sauce was great! They even show you how to eat it properly in a handy guide. My son had a kid's meal comprising spaghetti with bolognese sauce. Rice was served in a wooden pot and we can have as much as we wanted. All in all, it was a really nice experience and we will definitely come back here again!More

The meal was satisfying from the beginning till end. I ordered the sea bream sashimi set (2100 yen). The set came with pickles, unlimited rice, a plate of sashimi, tamago (eggs). The flavours in the set matched well with each ingredient, giving it an umami...taste. We only came here because the unagi store nearby was closed. But this place has definitely impressed me. Would come again if I’m in Arashiyama. 10/10.More
