Metronome is an ideal place to eat if you are averse to noisy crowds. It is also nice for people who aren’t heavy eaters because the servings of the food are really small. The restaurant, which specializes in modern French cuisine, has quite an impressive...list of alcoholic beverages and the main courses already come with a choice of soup or salad, dessert, and coffee or tea. The plating of the dishes are typical of a fine dining restaurant, and the staff is very attentive. The downside is that Metronome doesn’t have its own parking, and vehicle owners have to pay P60 for a 2-hour stay. The food is quite pricey for most Filipinos so you wouldn’t dine there unless it’s payday or there is a special occasion to celebrate.More

We had a wonderful dinner with the family... we met the co owner and the co owner chef... discussed the re instating of the liquor ban and how it will affect the dining experience in metronome... all in all a gastronomic food experience and a...happy place to go to...More

This review might irritate some or please others. We had dinner there as a family having heard the chef studied under Joel Robuchon (he passed away with 12 restaurants and 32 Michelin stars). We expected great things. The restaurant decor is not what I would...expect.... a little Art Deco perhaps. However, the service is very good. That is a given. Now for the food. Generally very good but very very pricey. Quantities are very “nouvelle cuisine” and I do recommend you eat the bread and prepare to order dessert unless you are 100 lbs and on a diet. Servings are really small and you do need a three course meal. My wife and kids were hungry on the way out. I am concerned that this place is a fad and may not be sustainable. This critic will not place this restaurant on a “must go back soon” list. I would have preferred a “good rating” but sadly not available. Thus the very good as average does not do justice.More

Had the tasting menu which didn´t quite live up to the expectations. Nothing wrong with the food but nothing spectacular. Some remarks on the food: - My friend´s scallops were close to frozen - The same choice of garniture for many dishes - The chutney...for the foie grass didn´t fit in. We didn´t really get the idea behind the tasting menu, for instance, corn soup doesn´t feel very French. Unlike Toyo Eatery or Gallery by Chele, the staff didn´t really explain or present the food.More

Fantastic experience which lived up to all that is being said about the food. The place is not pretentious and they don’t lay claim to anything they can’t deliver. I had the tasting menu which is priced quite reasonably and you leave feeling fully satisfied....You’ll find exquisite flavors on some of the dishes while also being served classic French favorites. Definitely a place worth coming back to try what they roll out next!More

One a manilas best kept secrets! Chef Nico did and awesome vegetarian menu and the dishes were all perfectly portioned and using probably the best local ingredients. Very reasonable in pricing. This is easily one of the best restaurants we have ever tried in manila....Ambiance is perfect; Service was good and food was even better. Truly a must try when in manila.More

We had a preordered business dinner for about 14 guests at their private room. The food was excellent, both presentation and taste were top notch. The courses came in a good flow for a business dinner. Wine list is decent. Pricing in line with the...quality. Service for the drinks could be improved and champagne must be served more chilled. I suggest to cool down the glasses. Otherwise service was pleasant, discrete and professional. We will be back for sure and thank you for a pleasant gourmet evening.More

Overall, at the end of the meal, we asked Chef Miko, “Why is your food so good?” It looks simple, classic French (not fusion), but when you taste it, the flavors overwhelm you with their simplicity. Ang galing! METRONOME is a modern French restaurant in...Makati by Joël Robuchon-trained Chef Miko Calo, RJ Galang of Bakere/Man Eat Manila fame, Restaurateur Elbert Cuenca and Alain Borgers, formerly from the Shangri-La Group. For the best experience, make sure to reserve the banquet tables which are very conducive for conversations with friends until closing time. Definitely, order the Egg and Spaghettini for the small plates, the Duck for the mains, Chocolate Textures and Baba Au Rhum for dessert. Budget ₱2,500/head for the dining experience or + ₱1,000 for the tasting menu + drinks. Indeed, it deserves all the hype and the food is worth every peso. Congratulations to Chef Miko Calo, RJ Galang and the Metronome team for creating the best French bistro in Manila!More

The restaurant welcomes you with a high ceiling bar as you enter, enticing one with amazing cocktails. The staff were very warm and friendly and yet, professional. I was lucky enough to be welcomed by Alain Borgers who is part owner of the place. he...introduced himself to us and recommended some cocktails by the bar . Chef Miko suddenly came out and offered us truffled cashew nuts to go with our drinks, something new that she was working on! I knew right away that it was going to be an amazing experience...and we haven’t gotten to the main event yet! my husband and I were admiring the interior as we look into the restaurant... the round glass mirrors reminds me portholes in a cruise. It gives you a feeling of space . The lovely street like lantern that is on the middle of the divider gives a french feel of a casual walk along the river seine. I love the combination of wood ,marble and Art Deco tiles. It gives a relax and casual vibe. The starters comes in small bites, enticing one to have a couple of dishes, giving you the chance to try different ones. Every dish was well executed with every component matching and complementing each other. We had the pan-seared Foie gras wd tamarillo chutney, Beetroot wd Roquefort cheese and pork belly confit glazed wd ginger-barbecue sauce to start with. All looked and tasted amazing! For mains, I had the beef Cheeks braised in red wine sauce with bacon and shallots. It just melted in my mouth! Potato purées were served separately in a small dish on the side. Something that we nearly missed admiring our individual mains. The Halibut my husband had was butter-roasted with onion confit and a sauce of onion broth, delicately concocted to perfection! The slow cooked lamb saddle was cooked to perfection which our Aussie mate ordered.. They had a choice of dessert for every craving, me loving dark chocolate and my husband something light and citrusy..I had the chocolate textures which composed of all types of chocolate,yum! And my husband had the meringue we pineapple-basil compote & mango-rum granita,lime meringue. Of course I had to share his! Would definitely come back again and try the degustation menu next time!More

Went to Metronome to celebrate a birthday with family, and they did not disappoint! The service was impeccable, and provided one of the rare times in Manila where they serve everyone’s course at the same time. The food was great, a welcome addition to the...restaurant scene. I would not hesitate to go back!More
