Food was quite good. However, considering that they mainly serve vegetables which come with a sausage and a few bites of chicken for 2ppl 1000 MUR per person = 21€ per person it is quite overpriced. For 2 alcoholic drinks and the food, we ended...up paying 2600 MUR= 54€. Prices are made for tourist only as we didn't see any native eating there.More

Thank you Nadine et May for a fantastic dining experience at your charming restaurant in the centre of Flic En Flac. This family run restaurant has an intimate, elegant vibe and Nadine and May make you feel instantly welcome, like one of their family. They...serve a delicious feast of Mauritian small plates so you can sample a large number of well prepared exotic dishes set against a good portion of rice. In particular the chicken curry was absolutely divine! I chose a South African white which was superb. There was a pleasing light dessert to conclude and a complimentary liqueur. You must make a reservation in advance. But this actually enhances the experience as you have a lovely dinner in a chic restaurant to look forward to !More

We had a really lovely evening and one of our best meals in Mauritius. The food was delicious and plentiful, and the service was very friendly and welcoming! Would absolutely recommend, but make sure to call in advance to book!

This is magic. May is a beautiful woman who spends the afternoon cooking Mauritian food in her kitchen and serves three tables in the evening. There is a little bar but it is a teeny place. The food is excellent but that isn't just why...you come here. You come here to meet May, drink rum punch that makes your knees feel like jelly, hear the incredible stories, chat with other people and generally feel like you have been welcomed into someone's home. It is an experience. It was a highlight. You seriously must go.More

Loved. My night here 1 highlight of our trip to Mauritius! Ambience, food, drink, staff -even the other diners -what a lovely evening . Make sure you walk by and book a few days ahead. There were a steady stream of passers by wanting to...eat but we were full at 8 guests as there are only 4 tables (plus the gorgeous baby Johann!)More

Such a great Mauritius dinner. There is one menu (many many different plates to test all served on the table) , so generous and accompanied by two Punch. We were welcomed by the owner, she is extremely kind ! So nice talking to her. She...has 3 tables therefore the quality is definitely there. You should book at least a day before.More

Our hotel recommended this local restaurant and it was one of the best meals of our stay in Mauritius. We were unsure of what to expect with no menus, prices etc, however we were looked after beautifully and served 14 (!) dishes of amazing food....Curries, vegetables, rice and lots of delicious rum. Reasonably priced and a great experience- would definitely recommend.More

Recommended to visit this restaurant by the owner of our guesthouse nearby. Worth reserving a few days before as it’s very popular and only serves a handful of tables. It didn’t disappoint. Very welcoming family run business with friendly service. Delicious home cooked food and...amazing different flavours of rum! Definitely worth a visit.More

We went in this place because all the beautiful reviews in TripAdvisor. But for us (4 people) was a disappointment! All the dishes were of vegetables and only 3 plates of meet and fish. The chicken curry was orribile Also the fish too much cooked...The dessert was very good. 900 rupie per person it’s a lot of money for eat in Mauritius I don’t recommend.More

This place has a really welcoming vibe, from your arrival to the presentation of about 10 different dishes, each one delicious. S bit of rum and a beer to help it all along made for a lovely memorable evening. It’s not a fancy place, but...you feel like you’re really at home. Also, you don’t get to choose from a menu, you just get what’s cooking, so if you’re super fussy or like to feel in control, May’s house may not be for you. Highly recommended.More

Guided by Tripadvisor, we popped into Anne a Sucre when passing one evening and made a reservation for a couple of days later. Reservation essential here to allow May to plan. We were very, very warmly welcomed- May is a very pleasant lady, genuinely interested...in her customers and their countries of origin. The meal is a real experience - a range of local produce all cooked in Mauricienne style. We had about 20 savoury dishes, each the size of a large tapas. It was a lot of food for two people but we’re committed eaters! The flambe pineapple with ice cream for dessert nearly tipped us over the edge though! The food was gorgeous - we were talked through each dish so knew exactly what we were eating. May showed us some of the raw ingredients too so we now know what chouchou looks like should it ever appear in a UK supermarket. Food is all beautifully cooked. The flavours vary greatly between dishes and complement each other well. We had fruit juice and rum from the bar, and also tried some of May’s speciality rums as part of the deal. It was all lovely and I’m very, very glad we went.More
