Average popular restaurant about 12 minutes away from the sea (castle of Hammamet) towards the center. Sea food is very affordable and waiters nice. It is a good option for a quick and cheap lunch stop but does not deserve to be number 2 on...trip advisor's list in my opinion. It is important to note that his place does not provide alcohol.More

Extensive menu of traditional food. We love the Haricots agneau. Comes with lots of side dishes, treat the Salad Meschouia with some respect, it's spicy! Very good value. As it's traditional place no alcohol is available. Bouga pop is good.

We wanted a casual dining experience with excellent food. That is exactly what we got. We ordered sea bream and grilled lamb chops. They were accompanied by a rice dish, salad, beans, bread, harissa, etc. The portions were also generous. To top it off, this...was one of our least expensive meals (~$11 dinner for 2). My friend requested a cappuccino to which we were told it was not on the menu. To our delight, they made this special order drink - warm, friendly service!More

It's a great place to feel like a local and have a generous budget meal. The first day we visited Ettahrir we were invited to the kitchen and shown the Tunisian specialities. The place was full of locals, which is always a good sign! When...ordering take into account that they will bring a lot of side dishes, so don't order too much! There is also fresh fish and seafood on display for customers to hand-pick. We've eaten there several times and would certainly recommend it!More

We were recommended this place by a German tourist otherwise we probably would have walked past it. The complimentary starters are a meal alone, we were able to eat as a large family for £15. We ended up eating here every night. Very helpful staff,...very prompt service and kitchen is impeccably clean. Also the toilets were clean which is very important when eating out with young children which we found isn't always the case in Tunisia.More

Oujja merguez was delicious, egg a bit under cooked but full of flavour in each bite. Couscous lamb is only available on fridays but only gave us a small portion of meat. Citronnade is fresh and homemade, would recommend trying. Brik was different but not...for my taste. Overall, a good spot to try local cuisine but not to have overly high standards.More

This hidden gem where only locals know about it it’s right at the beginning of Hammamet Old Town. Very busy with simple home cooked food it’s a must for a traditional Tunisian food! Don’t speak the lingo? Not a problem! Their open kitchen welcomes you...to check food before you order! Make sure you try the ‘Brik’ thin pastry filled with tuna or lamb with a runny egg fried to order!More
