We were recommended this restaurant by a friend whom, I suspect, may have visited in its hey day. All I can say is that this is the second worst meal we have ever had in the last 50 years. Am so sorry to leave such...a negative review as the waiting staff were delightful but the standards in the kitchen have fallen woefully short of what you could consider an edible meal to be and I suspect they are living on past glory. My crispy duck had been cooked to a crisp in rancid oil - not a pleasant after taste, sadly and my husband’s chicken was not much better.More

I had been told the Crispy Duck is the signature dish and not to be missed. Unfortunately it was dry, overcooked and overpriced. Very disappointing. The up side is the atmosphere was lovely in Traditional Balinese grounds surrounded by luscious gardens, fish ponds and rice...fields at the back.More

Definitely stop here on you trip in Ubud. The seating areas are surrounded by lots of plants and ponds full of fish, at the bottom end you have a rice field which you can walk around. It was a peaceful relaxing lunch time meal and...some of the best duck I’ve every tasted. You can tell you don’t just go here for a meal, you go for the experience of the surroundings. There is a lovely amusing story in the menu worth reading about how they came to their restaurant name too!More

Been coming here for years. Unfortunately, the food really wasn’t great. The cocktails were ordinary too. Very disappointed.

This historic restaurant has lost much of its quality on food. Go there for the fantastic garden en view, but don’t spend to much on your food (prices are on high side for Bali standards).

As worded "dirty" associated to it's duck delicacy, Bebek Bengil always there to deliver it's unforgettable taste from the original style of fried - dry fragrant duck with another version, Bebek Betutu, a rich Balinese spiced Duck, baked under a fire husk, certainly with its...distinctive flavor that lingers on from the Ubud's culinary exploration. This is the mecca on savoring a festivity dish that brings families together, celebrating a Balinese thanksgiving occasion...More

Spacious grounds housing the restaurant with wonderful architecture that flows the cool evening weather blending into a delightful cozy dinner setting. Attentive service staff patiently waiting while we read the menu and sought clarification The Signature Crispy Duck dish is a MUST. Tasty and crispy...with great flavor. The Nasi Goreng with chicken satay dish was light yet tasty and went well as we both shared these 2 dishes. The pumpkin soup was a good texture and not too sweet. In all a pleasantly delightful comfortable evening dinner.More

Dissapointing and dry overcooked duck . Sad to not be a happy diner but it was all very ordinary and over priced . The place has lost its standard .

We should have known when we walked in and the place was virtually empty. The duck was disgusting, a bit of stinky smelly skin on a carcass. My lemon ice drink was purely sugar and warm. We couldn't eat anything. Do not recommend!

Fabulous restaurant in the sense being picturesque but bad food and service, hardly any meat on the duck, just glad there was some rice to eat, such a shame.

We are staying 5 days in Ubud and our diner at Bebel will be remembered as one of the worst experiences of Ubud. We tried the crispy duck, not use even tasting it. We half finished and went to another place to finalise the evening....We will avoid this place in the future.More
