Lovely restaurant, peaceful cut into the side of the hill. Friendly, professional staff. It’s a set tasting menu. The website indicates there’s a choice of menus and a la carte, but it’s just the tasting menu. We had no complaints! We did not opt for...the pairing - cocktails and wine is a recipe for a headache! The wine list had enough good options. The food was excellent. Well balanced, showcasing local ingredients with some airflown for a twist. The standouts were the scallop, the palate cleanser (yes, seriously- by the pastry chef who is exceptional) and the rum coconut desert. We had a thoroughly lovely evening!More

Ubud Food Advice - Our dinner at Blanco Par Mandif @blancoparmandif ,a fine dining restaurant located inside the Blanco renaissance museum, came with high expectations. The multi-awarded chef Mandif Warokka @mandifwarokka with a golden past in both French and Japanese kitchens, promise to transform Indonesian...cuisine bringing the local products, scents and tastes to a whole new level. A progressive approach aimed to please the most demanding gourmands. Such introduction deserved the Abidoga signature tasting menu: - Assortment of Aperitifs. - Daily Caught Squid “Papinyo”. - Perseus Oscietra Caviar NO. 5 Tahu Telur. - Hokkaido Hitatei. - Mangut “Mekajiki Toro”. - Jimbaran Bay Rock Lobster. - Aged Kiwami Wagyu 9+. - 14 Day Aged Smoked Duck Breast. - Signature Getug 6.0. - Mignardises. The restaurant itself is a jewel perfectly set and fitted in the Ubud crown. Beautifully designed. Modern, comfortable with maniacal attention to details. A kingdom tailored for diners. Professional warm service, coordinated by the appassionate restaurant manager. Now the food: there are several risks when a chef imports from abroad the learned skills and techniques into his/her national cuisine. Risks that chef Mandif overtakes without fear, transforming every single dish into an epitome of perfection. Pairing, balances, textures and cooking processes are managed at the highest level to surprise and please with an unexpected comfort. A complete revolutionary Indonesian cuisine philosophy that is hard to forget. Absolutely deliciously outstanding! NEW ENTRY IN THE Y&SFOOD! BALI DINING GUIDE 2023.More

An evening at Blanco Par Mandif was a culinary odyssey! Chef Mandif M. Warokka's innovative Indonesian cuisine is nothing short of spectacular, the dinner was a feast for the senses. It began with a unique touch – the handwashing ceremony. Instead of the conventional warm...towel, they elevate this routine into a refined ritual 💅, setting the tone for the exceptional evening ahead. We tried the tasting menu. You can see that each dish was a testament to the chef's meticulous craftsmanship and dedication to culinary excellence. But 2 standout stars are the "14 Days Aged Smoked Duck Breast" and the "Signature Getug 6.0 A MUST TRY!!!! The service at Blanco Par Mandif was nothing short of exceptional. The attention to detail, from the timing of each course to the knowledge of the menu, was nothing short of phenomenal. The seamless orchestration of the evening's proceedings added to the overall charm of the dining experience. For anyone seeking the pinnacle of progressive Indonesian dining, Blanco Par Mandif is a must-visit destination 👏👏👏👏More

The fantastic ambiance, largely attributed to the staff who skillfully navigated between tables, offering entertainment, assisting with group photos, and delivering outstanding suggestions for food, wine pairings, and cocktail specials, will be hard to surpass. I highly recommend trying the scallops, followed by the lamb,...and concluding with the delectable signature dessert.More

We were incredibly fortunate to visit Blanco on its final night before undergoing renovations. While the staff provided exceptional hospitality and the cuisine itself was truly remarkable, the overall ambiance of the restaurant fell short of expectations. Given that it was our first visit, we...couldn't determine whether this lack of ambiance was characteristic of the place or simply a consequence of the upcoming closure for renovation. Our table was set up with a tablecloth, with a noticeable stain, and the cutlery/chopsticks needed. There were no candles or flowers present, and the restaurant was brightly lit, which contributed to a somewhat lackluster atmosphere. Minimalistic might be the motto, but one can still create a warm space. Nevertheless, our experience at Blanco was elevated by the delectable dishes presented before us by the lovely team. Each bite was a delight, with exceptional flavors and extraordinary combinations that truly made the evening exciting and enjoyable. From the amuse-bouche that greeted us to the six-course meal that followed, we savored every moment of this culinary journey. And we even received a in Calligraphy style handwritten welcome card with our names! Very nice touch. Although the ambience let the place down I still will give the place 5 stars, as everything else was very enjoyable. We hope to be back once the restaurant in in full swing again.More

We have raved about it countless times since our first visit in 2019 and were now so looking forward to visiting again. Unfortunately, we were bitterly disappointed. We first shared the following feedback with the restaurant in private. But the lack of feedback and the...arrogance associated with it prompted us to voice our criticism publicly. Professionally and humanly, this is just so disappointing. The whole set-up in the restaurant was not as classy as last time. The tablecloth, for example, was greasy and had food leftovers from the previous meal on it. The waiting time between courses is far too long. The whole evening consisted mainly of waiting: waiting for the start, waiting for the course, waiting forever each time in front of an empty plate, waiting for bread. The bread that was refilled was old. Telling us it was cut from the same loaf as before is not true. The meat was not cooked properly. Not in the European way, not in the Balinese way. The vegi menu is not a vegetable menu composition, but just a collection of side dishes. The cocktails: three tequila shots for a total of 6 courses. A poor variety. There is a lot of repetition in general: tequila, mushrooms, chives, soup.... The performance was - we're sorry to say - poor in all respects. To tell us that it was due to the pandemic and the lack of staff, but then to charge the full price with a completely reduced performance is really not appropriate. We had been looking forward to this evening for weeks, telling everyone about our last visit to Blanco for years, and went to bed last night deeply saddened. To make matters worse, I had diarrhoea all night. The first time in 8 days in Bali, certainly due to the visit to Blanco. I had asked for a partial refund, over $400 for the whole thing is just insane. Last time we paid this much and it was completely justified. We were happy to pay that, but not this time. If you want fine dining in Ubud in 2023, the Mozaic is a thousand times better.More

We are vegetarian and the vegetarian degustation was delicious. Starting with a trio of pickles, working through 6 beautifully presented and well curated mains, and ending in a delicious dessert. Chef and team have created a delightful Balinese inspired tasting menu. Every dish had a...story to tell, well presented by the wait staff. Attention to detail was next level. The paired drink menu was equally inspired. Service was hands down the best you could ask for 🙏More

Our second visit here, and still amazed by the creativity of the Chef. Housed within the Blanco Renaissance Museum complex, this restaurant presents a modern take on Indonesian cuisine, as well as drawing inspiration from the cultures of its international clientele. The wine and cocktail...pairing is marvelous, fits perfectly to each dish. If we compared to Michelan-stars reaturants that we visited in Europe, the dinner here is absolutely on the level of Michelan star (unfortunately also the price 🤨 but it was worth it). Some improvement of restaurant‘s interior and table decoration is still needed though (but they know this and will do something about it next year). Service was as excellent as last time we visited, super friendly, attentive and creative. „Getug 5.0“ was my highlight - I think I got the alpha version 5 years ago 😀 If you‘re looking for extra ordinary creative and superb quality of fine dining, here is the place!More

The bar tender was able to create Mocktails for my husband whose not a...drinker. The staff was great, they make sure our every need was met. The meal was not rushed, perfectly timed between dishes. This was a fantastic dinner to capped off our Bali adventure.More

I was so excited to visit BLANCO after reading all the positive reviews on google. It was also my first fine dining experience in Bali. They provide 2 menus (other than vegetarian menu) - Pescatarian Menu & Chef Degustation which price at IDR 1,800 &...IDR 1,900, honestly with this aggressive pricing, i do expect more on the food quality and dining environment. There were ants walking around the sofa area and came across my shirt. Flies were all around the dining area and my dishes, which are totally not a pleasant dining atmosphere. What surprising me the most was the Amuse-bouche - they were served with a walking ant. That's really a surprising start for the dinner - of course not in a good way. Food taste so average as well, not a fine dining quality for sure. Even service was good, it could not change anything. At the end the meal costed me more than IDR 5,000,000. With this price, you can have many better options out there. Of course, if you love to dine with insects, i 100% recommend this restaurant to you. For those good comments on google, i doubt if we are visiting the same restaurant ?More
