Ubud has a lot of places to eat, but this place stands out because The restaurant grounds are simply beautiful, lush gardens, booths with traditional Balinese decor and pitched roofs. The greenery surrounding creates a stunning atmosphere of being in a Balinese forest. The busy...More

Popped over for dinner since it was recommended and literally a stone’s throw from my hotel. The display of baked goods were a little underwhelming, but the gardens that Cafe Wayan sits amidst was impressive no less. You could choose a low seat (Lesehan) or...More

it's been there since 1984 and the standard of the food and service has been wonderful all this time, now the cooking classes are going to be taken amongst the gardens at the back of the restaurant, no traffic to worry about now !!

The Nasi Campur chicken was great. A large serve and heaps of variety. We ate out the back which was very pleasant and quiet.

Hi Vextar. We went in the evening and it was stunning. Try to book one of the low serving tables ( no chairs) as this made the experience even better. Enjoy your holiday 👍🏻

Description
Cafe Wayan and Bakery Established in 1986 We are happy to have had so many nice guests come to enjoy our food for over 32 years. Cafe Wayan started as a small warung (a local food stall) where Ibu Wayan sold black rice pudding and coffee to the rice farmers on what has now become Monkey Forest Road. Tourist began walking down "the path" to the Monkey Forest and stopped by for a coffee, snacks or to buy peanuts for the monkeys. Ibu Wayans always love to cook as a child and soon the menu began to expand. Return friends to Ubud began helping with recipes of western dishes as long term visitors and residents sometimes miss their own food too. Ibu Wayan began traveling abroad and learned more western cooking with Chef Joe Schultz of India Joes's restaurant in Santa Cruz, California and also learned the art of Thai cuisine in Bangkok.
