Wow. Great location and food. Dinner was a lot fancier than we expected, especially the cocktail pairing. My friends were so pleased to have vegetarian option, and they loved it. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for something special in a wonderful location...amongst the rice fields.More

We had the 5 course, chef selection as recommended by the waiter. Each course was delicious. The stand out dish was definitely the lombok barrabundi and matching cocktails.

The food is beautiful, and the Ubudish ambience is impeccable, with rice fields surrounding the restaurant, a bamboo structure and a gorgeous pond that will set you up for an exceptional tranquil restaurant experience. The last time we went here, we let the chef pick...the dishes for us, and as always, we highly enjoyed the freshness and flavour of the meal.More

We went to Sacred Rice on a recommendation from a friend. We were not disappointed. The food was really good...the staff very helpful and looked after us well. The atmosphere was so calming and quiet with a beautiful tropical setting. I recommend it highly.

A return visit, this time with a vegan friend. I love the simply cooked but incredibly flavorsome seafood here, and the nonja curry chicken is also special. My friend was delighted with the 5 course vegan degustation menu which she had with paired cocktails, apparently...superb while I stuck to my wine.More

Back in Bali for a 2 week holiday, after a long absence during Covid. First stop for dinner ..Sacred Rice. It's still an amazing dining experience. The location is quiet, at the end of a lit pathway. The food is delightful with flavours and variety....My friends and I had the Chef's Selection of 5 courses....highly recommended. One of our group was a Pescatarian & another a vegetarian, and they were delighted with the flavours textures and presentation. We all agreed....we'll be back for another dinner at Sacred Rice before our holiday's end.More

The location in secluded rice fields with a river one side and the sacred Subak on the other side, makes this a genuine but rare experience in Bali. Zero road noise, just the sound of a gentle waterfall into a pond of amazing Koi fish....Then the food! Simple fresh local ingredients cooked gently to bring out original beautiful flavor - the prawns, barramundi and slow cooked beef are not to be missed. My friend was also delighted with a 5 course Vegan degustation that she said was the best she had ever had. The Balinese staff were friendly, progress and unobtrusive. All together a magnificent experience- highly recommended!More

I was here with my wife on our final night in Ubud and it was hands down one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had in my life. We took the mixed meat 5 course option and told them about our food allergies/preferences and...they were very accommodating. The cocktails were amazing and the view from the little hut facing the rice paddy was lovely. It was a magical night and worth every penny. The dinner with wine and dessert cost £88 and this dinner would’ve been an easy £300 meal back in London. Fine dining and service for a fraction of the price. If you’re in Ubud and looking for a romantic, quiet experience with delicious food - this is the place to go.More

My wife and I dined at Sacred Rice as part of our honeymoon in Bali. Sacred Rice is a truly hidden gem away from the crowds of Ubud, located in the midst of a rice field. The path which leads to it and the restaurant...itself is beautifully lit. Super romantic. The waiters are very charming and mastered the balance between too much and too little guest engagement perfectly. The food was absolutely divine. Everything fresh. And so were the cocktail. We ordered the set menu and let the chefs do their magic. It was one of the best restaurant experiences we have ever had. Good value for money as well.More

My wife and I have just finished our experience at Sacred Rice at the time of writing, and it is one of the best culinary experiences we have ever had. We selected the 5-course tasting menu and the cocktail pairing. Both were exceptional. We had...never tried a cocktail pairing before and they were honestly some of the best cocktails we have ever had. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and will be speaking about how great it was for years to come!More

The dinner at Sacred Rice was the best meal I had in Bali. My husband and I really enjoyed our dinner there. Sacred rice is situated in front of paddy fields, surrounded by lush vegetation. There is a narrow path to walk to get to...the restaurant. I enjoyed the short walk- it was well lit with lanterns and made for a unique experience. When we arrived, we were greeted warmly by the staff and showed to our table. There are tables facing the fields offering views of the sunset (very romantic) and there are also tables which overlooks a koi filled stream. I had the dragonfruit cocktail which was delicious. As for the food menu, there is a choice of ala carte or one could pick the chef’s menu and include wine pairing as well. The staff are very knowledgeable and will explain the options and provide recommendations. The food was very good so much so I was very inclined to write this review. Every bite was a burst of flavour without being overwhelming. The plating was gorgeous too. My husband and I were really happy we had dinner at Sacred rice. The setting was beautiful and comfortable, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable and the food, absolutely mouth watering. I thought the price was very reasonable too for the quality, service and the ambience. I will surely make a visit to Sacred Rice the next time I am back in Bali.More
