My first visit to Dastarkhwan Lucknow. On a Wednesday night, eight of us reached the restaurant at 08:50 PM. Got a table at 10:00 PM. When we were leaving at 11:00 PM though the shutters were down, the restaurant was half full.
Do I need to say anything more about the place?
We had only mutton - all dishes were brilliant - Mutton chop, Galwati Kabab, Boti Kabab and Mutton Bhuna with roomali roti. The mutton was so soft and tasty. The galwati kabab unlike at the Dum Pukht, ITC was a bit spicy - excellent and melted in the mouth.
Unfortunately they had run out of sweet dishes by 11:00 PM. Great experience

I'm a fan of Awadhi cuisine & went to The Mughal’s Dastarkhwan for an early dinner. Lucknow is full of restaurants called Dastarkhwan; this one is located in Lalbagh. I feasted on Galauti Kebab.
I heeded to the server & took a Mughlai Paratha with it but that turned out to be quite heavy. So, for seconds, I opted for a Roomali Roti.

The Kebabs here are great. We tried the boti and Shami Kebabs and they were simply the best. The service itself was very prompt and quick. It is definitely a must if someone visits Lucknow.

I visited dastarkhwan nearly 5 years after my last trip - this was the time when the restaurant was probably newly made, certainly not dirty and had maybe the best Lucknowi / Mughlai food.
This time the experience however was pathetic - the place was empty, dirty with smelling rest rooms and the staff seemed to have not washed their uniforms in months.
We ordered the handi mutton biryani; Shaami kababs and mutton seekh out of which the mutton seekh was great but the rest of the food very average. It’s sad when you see such an amazing and legendary place fail to maintain basic hygiene either out of choice or maybe in this case owing to the pandemic.

This is a fine dining outlet, serving mughlai cuisine in Lucknow. It scores high on the ambience factor, with well lit, spacious and decorated interiors.
Food isn't as good as the traditional Lucknowi joints.
The prices are high, and quality isn't that great. Portion size is also unsatisfactory.
For the real thing, a visit to the Chowk or Aminabad is a must.

This is a dirty, unhygienic, poor service restaurant. It is over hyped. We ordered Mutton Roganjosh, Paneer Mughlai. They were tasteless and not well cooked. Even roadside Dhaba are better. The washroom are dirty and unuseable. I will avoid visiting in future.

I have ordered through zomato legends. I am based out of Mumbai. After waiting for 1 day, I got 4 Parathas on place of 6 as mentioned in their menu. I feel cheated

I arrived at around 6pm, just before the restaurant started to get busy. By the time I left, there were almost no tables left!
I ordered the Veg Spring roll starter, and the Kebab Galouti as a main.
Spring rolls were delicious, and filled me up.
Having never had Galouti Kebab before, I didn't realise that I should order bread or salad with it, but by the time it came out I was too full to add to it, so I just tried the meat on its own - soft and very flavourful!
Pricier than other places, but definitely worth a visit!

We were advised to try out Mughal's Dastarkhwan over Tunde Kebabi. We are glad we did. The restaurant had a large waiting time, which indicated to us that it was, indeed, popular.
They have a proper waiting area outside, where the smell of the tandoori dishes wafts in, & gives a boost to your appetite. Finally, when we were seated inside, we had Dhaniya Roti, Galawat Kebab, Mutton Rogan Josh, Plain Rice, Shahi Tukda, & Ulte Tawe Ka Paratha.
The Dhaniya Roti (chapati with coriander filling) was a first for us. The Galwat Kebab was, truly, melt-in-the-mouth. The service was quick. It is a family-friendly place. We cannot wait to go back!

We enjoyed our dinner at this famous restaurant; we like kababs, biriyani and a special item on mutton. a plate of Phirni was our desert to cherish the lovely dinner.

The food was patable and delicious too. Both veg n non veg kebabs are really awesome. The mughali paratha was also tasty.
