This place is NOT closed. Went here 2 days ago. It’s hot inside with no WiFi, but hey that’s expected in Santa Marta. I got the Pollo Masala, it was good. Didn’t taste very authentic but it got the job done. This is the only...Indian restaurant that I know of in the area, so I would eat here again. Most of the options here are vegetarian.More

We came here for lunch on a very hot day in Santa Marta. The service was great as was the food but unfortunately there was no chapati or puri which was a bit of a shame.

In my experience, a restaurant has to look good from the outside so the experience is awesome from the start. Unfortunately, since you get there, you see a place filthy and unappealing. I think giving them one star, is too much.

Although I am not Indian, my friend is and she was so excited to get a taste of home. Of course the food is made for a Colombian palette and not as spicy as typical Indian food, but it was tasty. For me, it was...a nice introduction to the flavors of India.More

Thrilled to see an Indian restaurant in the middle of Santa Marta Colombia! Have tasted Indian food all across the US...and this one rates at the top! Had the Madres chicken and it was by far the best I've ever tasted. It was creamy and...spiced perfectly. Nice atmosphere...very chill!!More

Stopped in for a quick lunch after checking on trip advisor. Had a great local beer and the lintels. They were served with rice and the flavor was great. Spoke with the owner and enjoyed the chat. The price was good, the service was laid...back.(maybe a bit too much) I also took advantage of the free Wi-Fi. I enjoyed the visit and the food.More

sorry you feel this way. Im curious as to which dish you tried? All of our dishes are based and created by our former owner who is from india, and who worked as a chef for many years. We try to find the best spices...More

I was hasitating between "average" and "poor". We have lots of indian restaurantes in my country (Czech Republic) and there work only people from india/nepal so I can compare the food from this restaurante with the real indian/nepal food in my country. I can surely...say this doesn't tase like indian food. Rather a parody of Indian food. I am sorry to say this but it is truth. I ordered the lunch from a daily menu. Since it's the daily menu, I assumed it would be fresh and the chef had plenty of time to prepare it. And also that he knows this recipe well and knows how to prepare the food well. So I assumed the food would be the same or better than the food from the regular menu. The food was uninteresting, didn't have the right taste, was hardly spicy at all and I didn't eat it all because I didn't like it and I left the restaurante hungry. The scoop of rice was hard on top, cooked to a mush at the bottom and was not very salty. I didn't even know that rice could be prepared this badly. The chef tried to improve it with some kind of spice, which made it even worse. He even put it in the yogurt and vegetable. Terrible. In general, I like indian food very much and I visit this kind of restaurantes often. Almost all of the restaurantes in my city are very delicious. This restaurante is the opposite. If you want to know how the indian food doesn't taste, try this. I asked the waiteress if the chef is from india. She said yes but I don't believe it.More

Visited in August 2019 and have been meaning to leave a review ever since... As a group of English Tourists visiting Santa Marta it was a great treat finding this restaurant just around the corner from our Hostel. As big curry lovers back home we...were keen to try the Maharaja and we weren't let down by the quality authentic curries we all had. The staff and owner were also really friendly and chatty which we liked. Hope everyone at the restaurant has been keeping safe during these distressing times and we hope one day we can return! London based, I usually have the Indian cuisine once a week and was desperately in need for some tasty spicy food. Having been travelling in Latin America for the past 5 months, I’ve given up hope to easily come across a great restaurant. Arriving in...Santa Marta, there i see restaurant Maharaja India near my hostel and went to check it out straight away. Food was a-mazing and perfectly spiced! The portion was also slightly bigger than what I’m used! I went for the spicy variant of the Chicken Masala + Papadum. Highly recommend! The owner and staff are more than welcoming and warm-hearted. Due to governmental COVID restrictions, they have to close at 6PM currently (status: Feb ‘21), so make sure you head there in time!More

We had the chicken thali and the vegetarian curry (lentils and chickpeas). Both were excellent although if you want it a bit spicier make sure you ask as you order. The manager was very friendly. It was a great choice for lunch!
