People love their BBQ. When done right it can be delicious. The cornbread was way too dry. The least fatty brisket was very fatty. My biggest issue with this establishment is “come while we still have it”?? Why would I drive 45 minutes to a...restaurant that “might” be out of everything I would want to order? Burnt ends? If we still have them. Pulled pork? if we’re not out of it. BBQ chicken, maybe?? Forget it. I need to plan on a meal they will have.More
We've driven by here a million times vowing each time to stop in. Finally made this our destination and so glad we did. No frills BBQ food - step up to the counter and place your order, then wait to be called to pick it...up. Hubby's pulled chicken sandwich had plenty of meat. He opted for two sides - beans and fries - as well as Cole slaw on the sandwich. He used the chicken sauce that was on the table to dress the meat and said it was delish. I ordered the pulled pork platter with beans and coleslaw for my sides. Also chose the corn bread. Everything was great. I went with the sweet BBQ sauce which was yummy and perfect on the pulled pork. I appreciate that the meat is served "naked" so you can put your choice of sauce on it! Good sized portions. Beverages are also self serve. Beer and hard cider also available. One clean restroom. Limited dining indoors (seating for about 20?). Seating also outside. Food available for take-out. Will absolutely be back!More
My wife has Celiacs disease, which means all her food has to be gluten-free. Some friends had come to our house for a visit and we decided to go for a ride. We thought barbecue would be a good lunch, me Missus found them online,...called them, and they verified they could do gluten-free. The food was FABULOUS! 3 of us got the 2 meat plates, and my wife had a 1 meat plate. Each plate comes with 2 sides. Best fries I’ve ever had, cole slaw was excellent (All of us had gotten cole slaw as a side and thought it was excellent!) Baked beans were great, and the collard greens got a great review from my buddies wife. Pulled pork, chopped pork, and the brisket was to die for. We showed up on a rainy day and there were about 25-30 people out on the porch/deck eating under canopies, and a roof. The food was THAT good, people would come to eat it in the rain. I’m writing this 3 hours after the meal, so if there had been any glute issues, they would have surfaced by now. We WILL be back!More
We always managed to finding parking. And we have always been waited on right away. It can take a wait to get you food and it is very much worth the wait. Everything is great. My only complaint might be that they don’t have a...hot spicy sauce. On and order the French fries they are great.More
Two weeks before our daughter's graduation party, a catering vendor that we had booked 3 months prior canceled on us, we were stuck and started scrambling. The weekend before that we had randomly stopped into The Smoke Haus for an amazing dinner. When we got...the email about the cancellation I immediately thought of the Smoke Haus and sent them an email explaining the situation and asking if they could cater the event on such short notice. They were amazing! We ordered Pulled Pork, Pulled Chicken, and Mac n' cheese and all of our guests were raving about the food. They even gave us a variety of squeeze bottles of their delicious sauce to go with everything. Thank you Smoke Haus for saving the day and having such amazing food! Side note: When you stop in DEFINITELY try the 'Hog Wings", you wont' be sorry!More
First, brisket plate was $4.00 more than one line menu price. Pulled pork plate was $2.00 more than on line menu. Yes, menu states in fine print that prices subject to change, but simple change your menu for ease and accuracy. When asked choice of...bread was not told cornbread was an upcharge. Who upcharges on cornbread at a BBQ place?? Woman who took order was rude at best. Surprised at all the positive comments - brisket was okay, and the pulled pork was so fatty is was uneatable and disgusting to look at. If you want good BBQ go to Willie Jewels in Amherst NH- much more flavorful meat and sides and 100% better sauces, not to mention a much friendlier environment.More
Great food, quick, polite service. Simple, straightforward menu. I drive an hour to get their BBQ food. I have lunch and then bring back some for another meal the next day.
Eaten here half a dozen times at least. Plus Side: it's great to have them in the area, very convenient for take out. Minus Side: maybe expand the choice of side dishes: the hush puppies were a little tough and dry, cole slaw could be...less sweet and less wet, and I would ask where the potato salad is guys! Other reviewers ask where the best BBQ in NH is. It's at Goodie Cole's in Brentwood, NH. The owner is originally from Lukenbach, TX. They have the BBQ thing down! This is written by a former Texan. Enjoy!More
I have been here many times and have never been disappointed. Great local BBQ spot. Definitely worthy of a visit if you're in the area.
Amherst NH is not noted as the capital of bar-b-a but this place is worth a visit. It does seem like every time I visit they are out of something. It also seemed like the amounts served are a little less then the last time...I visited. BUT the food is very very good. Really like this place I will be backMore
I moved to the area from KC and was very reluctant to try bbq in NH. My experience at the Smokehaus did not give any confidence to my reluctancy. My brisket sandwich was inedible. Seriously that piece of meat should never have been plated. I...had 2 bites and gave the remainder to the dog. The hush puppies were dry and lacked any flavor. The coleslaw was too runny and far too sweet for my liking. I did like the sauce I chose, and I really appreciated the eco-friendly packaging. But the packaging isn't enough for me to ever stop here again. If this is what is getting accolades for bbq in NH, then I'll stick to lobster rolls.More
Really love this place. I /we have never been disappointed. The meats we have tried have all been great. The biggest decisions are what options to pick to go along with the bbq you’ve picked. Try this place you will be so happy you did.
We stumbled onto the Smokehaus on our way to hiking at Peabody Mill (which I would also recommend). The menu is focused on their delicious bbq and sides. Wings are large and buffaque sauce delicious. My wife said her brisket was the best. Service fast...and courteous. Large draft beer selection. They have plenty of outdoor seating with heaters. This place can hold its own with any bbq place in the country. I fear the inside is too small to handle the crowd once indoor dining is allowed. Don’t miss Smokehaus!!!More
I go here every week to get a different smoked meat, and 1 or two quarts of Baked beans. OMG their beans are amazing and to me are worth the trip alone. My favorite meat is the lean brisket. It's soooooo good. Get there early,...there are not many seats, but best BBQ in the Southern NHMore
