This restaurant was on my list before traveling to Laos. The food is absolutely amazing, as well as the wine list. The old link and influence from the french occupation is present, at least they did something good over there. The place was nearly empty,...apart from a few tables outside on the patio. We were sitting inside, in the AC`ned room. at least 5 waiters, with nothing to do, were staring at us during almost the whole meal. This was a pretty comfortable situation. They should know better. They were standing there, doing nothing while the empty glass from my aperitive was still on the table. It remained there for the whole meal. When we finished our main dish, the chef came out to greet us, a very appreciated gesture. It turned out that this local, grown up in the restaurant from his grand dad had worked for a number of years in restaurants in Switzerland. I now understood why there was fondue on the menu, not really a typical Lao dish. The chat with with the chef was pleasant, a very nice person who knows the business and the problem encountered when you have a restaurant like this. Finding qualified and skilled staff is a burden.More
