We are located on the Zadar peninsula in the old town near the Romanesque church from the 12th century. An open airy terrace on the street in front of the trattoria gives a view on that cultural monument.

A friendly welcome in Zadar

We visited Trattoria Bueno during an evening out in Zadar. It's located in the old town, where a lot of the restaurants are quite expensive (to be expected, I suppose). Trattoria Bueno is down a little side street and was a wonderful find. John, one of the waiters invited us to check out the menu, and it looked good so we sat down. There was a good choice of dishes, from ribs, meat, fish and vegetables to pasta, pizza and even some wok fried dishes. The waiters are on hand to give helpful advice about the dishes. We shared a bruschetta to start, and for our main course we had a rump steak, grilled to perfection, and I had the Zelena pasta - tagliatelle with prawns in a cream sauce with parmesan. It was all delicious. Along with two beers and a soft drink we paid around 400kn, which is very reasonable, compared to a lot of the restaurants in the main areas. We would definitely recommend this restaurant if you want delicious food at a reasonable price and with a friendly welcome. Thank you to John and the team at Trattoria Bueno :)

It was a real pleasure to stop for a quick lunch at Trattoria Bueno. Very quite location, tables outside on the sidewalk, very comfortable and clean. We were served by Fati who is a pro at the service. We had a spaghetti bolognese and chicken in yellow curry made in wok which was a stunning dish. We recommend the place to whoever wants to enjoy top meals for reasonable price at the perfect location. 10 out of 10

We had a great dinner!!! Grilled calamari was cooked to perfection 😋😋 Table service was second to none. Friendly atmosphere in a beautiful settings. You couldn’t ask for more! P.S but there was more…free drinks 🍹🍹 Thank you “Trattoria Bueno” 😁😁

Bad food and even worse personnel.

The food was mediocre and the staff was really unpleasant. Their card machine didn’t work and got upset with the customers and tried to take more money than the actual food was worth (exchange fee with the currency). WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

Expensive Food average quality

My girlfriend had a Rumpsteak which was Reallohn like Leather and thin slicen. I hat scampis which where okay, but the tomato Sauce was the same they had on the Steak and tasted like Pizza Sauce. The cheapest bottle of wine costed 30€ . 10 km from Zadar is a Wine yard which has Great Food and Great Wine for a better Price.

We appreciate your opinion but luckily you are the only one who sees our food that way. However, we will check what bothered you and use your review to fine tune our services. On the other hand, the wines we offer are high quality and the prices are even lower then other restaurants in the old town. It is logical that in the countryside is cheaper, our restaurant is practically on an archeological monument, it cannot be compared. Thank you for the review .. 🍷

hi, just to write my experience in this restaurant, because I was a little shocked reading the comments so I can't combine the two although I know that sometimes everything doesn't turn out great but I was with my wife and children and with a friend and her family we all had dinner there because other restaurants turned us down because there were a lot of us. We ate that fish platter, hamburger, risotto, carbonara pasta and pizza. Everything was of perfect taste and large portions, we were all very satisfied with the food and service that took care of us and as far as I noticed around others because there was a full terrace. Delicious food, professional service

We had dinner twice at the restaurant during our stay in Zadar and it was just great! The food was very delicious and they have a wide variety of options. Fati, the waiter who served us, is a very friendly and professional gentleman who speaks fluent English, so communication was very easy. The restaurant itself is well-located and I can absolutely recommend it! Thank you Fati, thank you Trattoria Bueno!

Best Service and Smiles of Zadar

The food here and Gjon (John) the waiter made this restaurant a highlight of our trip to Zadar. We hadn't initially planned to eat here but Gjon approached us while we were walking by and took us through the menu, explained what vegetarian options were available for the benefit of my wife and what I could be tempted with us as well. We decided right then that we would be stopping by for dinner. We had the vegetarian risotto and a grilled fish paired with a lovely wine suggested by Gjon. All in all a great experience with a full smile service.

Super nice atmosphere and service

Not only the food was amazing and super tasty, but the waiter, John, was extremely friendly and helped with the recommendations, the food was really well served, we ordered the Fish Platter for 3 people and we were really full. The wine recommendation was perfect, for the wine lovers and curious about the local drinks, we had the Punta Skala Pošip 2020, combined perfectly with the food. I would recommend for everyone the restaurant if you are in Zadar

nice food and very good service from the Fati waiter. We ate bruschetta, shells and risotto the food was delicious. Fati recommended a very good wine, but it was no problem to try some of the wines. Fati also made sure that the meal was conducted in a pleasant atmosphere.

we were a group of friends and we came across this wonderful restaurant with wonderful staff who greeted us as we passed by. we all ate different food, but we were all very satisfied with the taste, service and price. we will be happy to visit again

Arriving at a fairly late time, the guys are super welcoming and available on every request, even off the menu. I specify that the waiter Fati was impeccable, kind and fast. I highly recommend this restaurant

Gets a low score because they are playing with the health of the stupid tourist. We asked for freshly squeezed orange juice for my husband because he is not allowed to drink preserved drinks. After suggesting wine and beer, we had already told the waiter that my husband can not drink alcohol or canned drinks for his health. If they would not have fresh juice he would drink just water. The server promised freshly squeezed orange juice. Probably thinking…we will never see this stupid cruise passengers again. So no worries if he gets very sick of just half a glass. We saw before tasting that it was not pure. After I took out all the ice the glass was not even half full. The waiter assured again that the staff had just freshly squeezed it themselves. After tasting it, I drank it myself because we didn't want to ruin my husband's anniversary day by getting into an argument. Nest to us were eleven people from the ship. I ordered a 750ml bottle of water for €6 out of courtesy because I had a bottle of Evian with me and the very small glass of preserved orange juice from cardboard cost €5! When I went to the toilet after paying I saw two boxes of juice on the counter behind but no juice squeezer anywhere, also not in the open kitchen. Juice a kind that my husband is absolutely not allowed to drink because of the preservatives it contains. This is a bad thing, so people with a nut allergy, for example, should stay as far away from this place as possible because they are blatant about what you drink or eat. The orange juice comes in a green box and is called Juicy. I had a good butt small lasagne and the pasta carbonara from hubby was average. Terras in a nice quite street. We will never ever come back here because of the dishonesty. And of course the reaction on this will be that the orange juice was squeezed but them because why would they stop lying now. This is so stupid. Just say you do not have it and he would just drink water. Why risk a bad review over half a glass boxed orange juice and the health of your clients?!

Thank you for your visit and review you left for our restaurant. We are sorry that you feel the way you described in your review and we wish you came to talk to us immediately about the issue instead of making this kind of accusations. It is completely unfair for you to say that we are a hazard to our guests only according to your assumptions. You said that we served your husband a juice from the bottle after telling the waiter that he is not allowed, due to his health issues, to drink anything but water and freshly squeezed juice. You apparently saw two bottles of orange juice on your way to the toilet assuming that this is exactly what we served your husband. Firstly, according to the regulations these kind of bottles are not even allowed to be served to the guests in a restaurant and we are not using them. The only bottles you could have seen are the beverages privately owned and used by our waiters as daily refreshments for them during working hours. They get one meal here during working hours but drinks they bring by themselves. If you had asked to see the juice maker we would have shown it to you, instead you accuse us of not having one because you did not see it yourself. according to all of these assumptions, you accused us of being a hazard to our guests and of being dishonest and untrue. That is not correct and we can not allow it to be said in this way about our restaurant, especially because we do everything to please our guests, to have them enjoy and return to eat with us again. People come to us with different problems looking for specially prepared foods and we accommodate each request as we can and they leave happy. To say that we ignored your request and put your husband in a health jeopardy is a huge accusation for us and that is not right to be done. Best regards

Great food

We were walking the streets looking for a place to have dinner, we checked several places but they were not what we wanted,here Fati (great guy) the waiter approached us and asked what we would like and walked us through the menu. We ended having some really good pasta. Great experience, would recommend.

Very disappointing and bothersome wait staff

Average is being kind. The waiters are too aggressive. They stand on the street harassing every passerby trying to lure them in. When you are seated, barely two minutes pass between the waiter hovering and asking questions and being generally way too bothersome. Yes, there is such a thing as getting too much attention. Give us 5 minutes to eat in peace. We got the cevap, which was extremely disappointing. It was dry, just tasted of salt and is the same quality I'd get in any fast food restaurant at home, probably even worse. The potatoes were soft and unsalted and generally just meh, and alongside that we got 3 tiny pieces of leafy greens and a little bit of raw onion. I cannot for the life of me undestand why this is rated so highly, and your money is better spent almost anywhere else, especially considering you could be eating at Butler at nearly the same price, which is in a completely different league.

We try to be attentive and nice towards all our guests which majority of them do recognize as positive note. The foods are prepared carefully and from fresh ingredients that we get on a daily basis and this is also something recognized by majority of our guests too.
