We've lived in Augusta for over ten years, and not a month has gone by that we didn't get Red Barn *at least* once. In the summer, it's practically a weekly event. The summer I was pregnant, we'd eat there a few times a week;...we often joke that our son is made of Red Barn chicken, fries, and gravy! And guess who has also loved "chicken Red Barn" since he was able to start eating it? Yes! That same kiddo!
The food is consistently delicious. The quality and quantity of food never disappoints. The value is unmatched. The staff are amazingly welcoming, warm, friendly, kind, knowledgeable, and gracious, whether in person or over the phone. No detail is left unattended. We've never, ever had an incorrect order - and we've had literally hundreds, if not thousands, of orders over the years. The facilities and grounds are immaculately kept. The landscaping is on point. The seating in the dining room and in the picnic area is comfortable and well-kept. All areas are easily accessible and navigable by foot, wheelchair, or stroller. The picnic area has plenty of shaded spaces and is also pet-friendly. There are Adirondack chairs for lounging, a bench swing, a wheelchair swing, cornhole, horseshoes, and ample green space to dance when there is music and for general tomfoolery like somersaults or a game of tag. Pre-COVID, we looked forward to the summer concert series; we look forward to a time when it's safe for those to resume.
Speaking of COVID-19, Red Barn's safety measures and preparations are second to none in their thoughtfulness and thoroughness.
There is ample parking for all. There are mulitple handicap accessible spaces as well as spaces for veterans. There are also spaces for motorcycles and RVs. If it gets super-duper busy, there are parking attendants to ensure safe and smooth traffic flow.
The community service aspect of the Red Barn culture is awe-inspiring. I could gush for lines, no, paragraphs, about how the restaurant and the foundation give back to our community, but I'll digress.
And finally, Laura the owner. She is such a shining light in our community; a true gem of a human being. And she gives WICKED good hugs.More
