Its a juice and sandwich all day long shop. The flavour is good. However the quantities are really small and the prices high. For 9-10 soles you get a small cup of juice and the big cup is like 19-20 soles like $6. The service...on tables is slow and the take a lot of time to attend you and even longer to serve the juices. Combos of juice and sandwich are expensive too. Not worth it.More

Small cozy place but nothing out of the ordinary... good fresh juices but not too many selections. Not suggestions from their staff.

I just have to comment on the sandwiches, first. I love the Spanish language, and I love seeing new words. I was baffled by the "sanguches" that I had seen on many Lima restaurant menus, and they were prominent here, so I asked - does...sanguche mean sandwich in English. Yes! I'd never seen that particular adaptation. Sanwich, sandwich, entrepan, bocadillo, various spellings, but sanguche (sanguch, singular? who knows). Peruvian Spanish is an adventure in itself. The prices were a little steep for a sandwich and a juice, so I ordered the "combo 2" - a "flauta" or wrap, and a 16 ounce fresh juice for 20 soles. I asked for orange juice with "limon" (lime) mixed in. Orange juice, the standard option in US restaurants, seems to be rare here. The flauta was made with shredded chicken in a thin crepe, crisp around the edges. Really good. And the juice was good, too, the little green limes adding just a touch of lightness to the orange juice. Negatives - the air conditioning was off, due to a water cut, and it was much hotter inside than outside even though it was midday in the middle of the summer. I was melting. I received reasonably good service, but they weren't at all busy, and I wasn't shy about asking questions and getting up to ask for more ice for my drink.More

I have tried 2 Gran Fruta restaurants. 1 at Conquistadores and the other at Begonias. Both have the same problem. Service. Waiters/Waitresses passes you withou seeing you. In periods they just disappear. Once I called from the outdoor terrace just to get my bill, as...no staff was visible for 10 minutes. Food is ok, prices are ok, but Gran Fruta manages in some way to lack totally of service.More

Although not inexpensive, you pay for really good quality food and juices. You can enjoy fresh fruit juices prepared at the moment and there is a list with recommended combinations, but you can create your own too. About the sandwichs, I had an "asado" (roast)...one, with tomato and avocado, and I loooooved it. But if you are a vegetarian, there are options for you too. I will definitely recommend it to other travellers looking for a good taste of Peru's capital :)More
