Stopped in for lunch. Cold beers, nice local chicken dishes with plantains, etc., friendly service, and a local musician came in and played his guitar in the corner. A nice taste of the "real" Kinshasa, away from the high-end Gombe restaurants.

While the device was very slow The food is excellent as long as you are seating inside. Mosquitoes will feast on you specially in the evening.

Go here. The chicken is great. The beer is cold. You will most likely have to cross the city to get to Bandal, which is a riot and worth the trip. Like the city itself, you can only wonder how it manages to exceed its...reputation in every respect. I intend to come back on a weekend, because like so much of K, CMC is set up for a party.More

A place where I would not go without locals. Surprisingly good grilled chicken. Very clean place and good nice service. We went 5 times for lunch in a week and was always excellent.

Offers chicken and fish prepared Congolese style as well as traditional side dishes. Outdoor and indoor seating, though the outdoor is a better experience. Great service. Good for groups and lunch or dinner. Live music many nights of the variety that plays table-side guitar/drums/singing. Great...cultural dining experience that isn't touristy.More

The first thing to know is that there 2 Maman Colonels (we went to Maman colonel 1) the place is a bit tricky and located in a very busy area full of bars. Iyvwas highly recommended by a local who told us this is THE...place for chicken, indeed the chicken was great and much cheaper than the usual expat restaurants, would definitely go back. Take cash, we were told credit card payments don't always workMore

Casual dining at its very best!! Seriously the best Chicken I have ever eaten. Wear bug spray, as everywhere else in Kinshasa, but go and go often. This place is not to be missed!!! Friends also had their fish (Capitaine) and felt it was superb.

For the average traveler, many will find this place inaccessible. The neighborhood is overcrowded, traffic is a mess, and the venue is old. But.... I will say that if you can make it through that, you are in for a treat. On a number of...visits to Kinshasa, this is the one place I can remember by name. I love their food. Being from the southern part of the U.S., we can be picky about our dining arrangements. This place gets to the heart of your appetite and leaves you rubbing your stomach with satisfaction. Careful, you may actually let out one. On occasion, they have a bit of entertainment that swings through to give you a mix of Congolese, French, and Kenyan music that is always great to listen to. If you are up for a challenge with a happy ending, I would recommend this place. You will not be disappointed.More
