This isa good spot to go to for breakfast. We usually order the egg omelet with ham, some warm croissants, tea, coffee, and chocolate crepes for the kids. They also make decent pasta, burgers, fries, and chicken dishes. They bake cakes and lots of other...treats!More

Given the amount of Chinese in Kinshasa, the Capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, maybe I wasn’t supposed to be surprised to find this place, a good Chinese restaurant, in Kinshasa, but my experience in this city is that the really good restaurants...are extremely expensive, and those which are reasonably priced, are not that good. Le Mandrin, a good Chinese restaurant with rich menu and reasonable prices (still a little expensive, but not in outrageous way) is definitely an exception. The place looks like, well, a Chinese restaurant, with the round turning table and all. The waiters are Congolese but I did see Chinese employees, I assume they worked in the Kitchen. We were 5 men, middle aged and hungry, coming for Sunday lunch. We started with variety of soups, and I can recommend the Chicken and Corn soup which was delightful. The Tom Yum soup was good as well. As you usually do in Chinese restaurants, we all ordered a main course, and shared. We ordered Calanary, Chicken Szechuan, egg rolls, Chicken with Ananas, and of course, rice and noodles to accompany the food. We drank local beer and mineral water. All the dishes were good. I can recommend the calamari and the egg rolls which were maid differently than what I experienced elsewhere, but still very good. We paid 35 USD each, which is considered reasonable in a KINSHASA restaurant. Summary: I was pleased and I will probably visit the place again soon.More

The place has been here for eons. Nobody bothered to tell them the food here is not terribly Chinese in character, presentation and taste. Good place has for Sunday lunch but it is just that: passes for Chinese. Place difficult to find. Staffs are nice.

We qwere very early and were allowed in 30 minutes before opeoning time for lunch. My colleague was known so we got great service and had honey shrimps, beef stir fry and beef noodles. All 3 dishes were excellent and really tasty. Great views of...Kinshasa and teh Fleuve Congo. It is on the 7th floor of a government building and there is ommnly 1 lift which stops at every floor!. There is very little of Chinese food there. The reviews saying is Chinese food at best are obviously totally biased... It was buffet evening. Choice is little, food is tasteless, badly cooked, obviously low quality ingredients... and all this for premium price (even if everything...is expensive in Kinshasa)... For the same value you can have real good food elsewhere. Not recommended at allMore

When craving for Chinese food, Le Mandarin is one place that can offer a wide variety of Chinese food that can cater to all types of palates and diets. Unlike some Chinese restaurants, exotic foods from unconventional sources are not served here. What is served...here are more mainstream but otherwise traditional Chinese food that is more than just the run of the mill Chop Suey or Egg Foo Young. Dining here is definitely worth the visit.More

The Mandarin is a pretty good Chinese restaurant. I think it's the highest restaurant of Kinshasa (about 50 meters above the ground). It offers a great view of the neighboring capital, Brazzaville. I went to the Mandarin yesterday with my girlfriend, for Valentine's Day. We...took the buffet. It is now $33 per person. Drinks are not included in this price. We were about sixty people for this special occasion. The buffet was rather small, but we ate well. The service is good. The waiters are very serious. The decoration is ideal, much better than in the other Chinese restaurants of Kinshasa.More

Le Mandarin is one of the oldest restaurants in Kinshasa located in the 7th floor of newly refurbished building. The view is amazing, especially the view to Brazzaville. Food is well prepared by Chinese Professional chefs. I liked the shrimp Balls and the Chili chicken...plate. I highly recommend that place. But make sure not to mix many different tastes (plates) in one nightMore

Great Chinese food at this place. It exceeded expectations and I would go back! I recommend #956 the red bean jam cock pie.

Mandarin is truly the best Chinese restaurant in the world! It has been around since my mom was a kid! Everyone that has ever come to this restaurant has never complained! There is a really huge variety of dishes on the menu. Everything is very...tasty. The staff is very friendly and well trained (as specially since most of them have worked there for a long time). Mandarin has been ranked as one of the best restaurants in the world once upon à time. I definitely recommend this place. It's personally my favourite restaurant in the world.More
