It is the best place in Kinshasa for lunch! Period. I used to go there almost everyday when I was working nearby - my office used to be at the BCDC building. They have an excellent daily menu. I have never ever been disappointed at...the food or service. You guys are doing a great job guys. Five stars!More

Went there to get a quick lunch with a colleague. The food was quick and acceptable (boeuf bourguignon) so that was good. Other than that, I really don't think I'd come here more often. Service was quick enough and value seemed about right. But but,...the interior is a bit jaded and doesn't have a lot of charm, the meals on option were few and none very appealing. The food we received was what you'd expect from any ordinary eatery in Kinshasa, hardly cuisine. So good for a quick lunch but doesn't compare to the quality eateries Kinshasa possesses.More

The food is good and tasty, but the service is kind of slow, you'll need patience if you're then for a quick lunch

You can call l'Orangeraie and order take-out, so it's ready to pick up when you stop by. They have a special: 1/2 chicken for 5,000 francs. One time, the chicken was great, and it came with lots of delicious grilled onions (chicken was in recognizable...pieces such as wing, drumstick, etc.). However, last week the chicken was chopped up into unrecognizable pieces, and a large majority was bone and cartilege. There was no grilled onion. However, we ordered the same thing both times. So... if you order something for take-out, check the bag before leaving the restaurant.More

Ate a late lunch there, and was disappointed by the limited fixed menu choice. Food itself was acceptable, but not of a very high standard to be found elsewhere in Kinshasa. Pricing was on the high side for what we got.

Old timers and regulars make up for a dated interior. Decent buffet over the weekend with live local ensemble. Week day menu standard with a tough tasty steak and chips, topped with fresh chilli. If it's a hot day definitely head here, the aircon is...on super freeze.More

Used to go there a lot for lunch as they have a special menu at a reasonable price. However, since a certain time the quality of the dishes had decreased and I got sick twice. Not taking the risk since then.

The place looked grubby, smelled awful, and the staff moped around like their best friend had just died. To be fair, I didn't try the food, but my friend and I found it totally off-putting.

There are 3-4 plates ready for a quick selection during lunch hours. Written on the blackboard you simply choose meat or fish which in a daily changing way is always excellent. But the best is the extremely quick service even when fully packed what happens...during all normal business days. The interior of the place looks a bit like a rural French location nicely furbished but of course in the center of this incredible city of Kinshasa a bit over the top. Nevertheless a perfect place and at the end of you wonderful meal you get a slip with details of your bill in EUR/USD and CDF.More

c'mon, we're not talking about gastronomies or else. This is good food, quick and cheap. You can't ask for much more than that in Kinshasa. And the service is great: I have been there several times and can say that!

L'Orangeraie is a great place to treat yourself to some good French food and a better-than-average-for-sub-Saharan-Africa wine list. Limited vegetarian options, but I could order the vegetable plate every time and not tire of it. Bring plenty of dollars, however, as you will pay for...the quality.More
