My new favourite restaurant in Nepal! Very basic but the food is excellent! I had various curries for dinner, with delicious, freshly made garlic naan - a young boy at the front of the restaurant makes them as you watch. The veg thali at lunch...was also very tasty and just kept coming, all for around £2 I’m also addicted to their masala tea, worth popping in for a cup or two on a cold dayMore

For me simple restaurant but with tasty and authentic Indian fare, reasonably priced. Apparently catering just fgo locals as tourist just bypass. They make fresh tandoori roti/chapaty, Both my favorite Palak Paner and Mattara Paneer delicious, and top the Chicken Tandori made in the tandoori...oven.More

I always like a good bargain and when the food is tasty, it is even better. Lumbini Tandoori is a simple cafe and has a very simple selection of food. The curries are very tasty - my fave being the Chicken masala, accompanied by freshly...made tandoori roti. This to be finished off with a hot lemon tea, all for US$2-3. Worth a visit for those on a budget and i can gaurantee a return visit!!More

Situated in a narrow lane near Narsingh chowk in Kathmandu this small eatery is a good place for Punjabi food, esp. the Indians who stay in Thamel area. Tandoori roti, naan and daal fry etc are available at a very reasonable rates. Also available masala...tea, coffe at reasonable price. The dhaba being small prepare foods on demand hence hot and fresh. Not very neat and tidy, hygiene may be an issue for some but at the price it offers stables, no more facilities can be expected.More

The table menu says "AaKriti Lumbini Tandoori", but the large wall sign menu says "Youbak Canteen & Tandoori Dhaba". I tried the Butter Naan, 50 NRs, and the Palak Paneer, 140 NRs, a dish that I always use to initially judge Indian food. The palak...paneer serving was small and rather tasteless, in fact, odd-tasting, probably out of a can. Ok for a quick cheap meal. Open 8.30am-8.45pm.More

Delicious food, i returned here several times. And the price is ridiculously cheap. Location is in Thamel, so easy access from everywhere, they have a good selection of Nepali dishes, plus all sorts of breads baked fresh in tandoori.

We visited Kathmandu from Chandigarh and came all the way by Car...ROAD. We reached late night and found a hotel for stay. Next day morning we were starving for some good home made food..something familiar something we can eat enough and fill our tummies. So...using Trip advisor restaurants I was trying to locate some nearby place for eating in Thamel and here I found one Small street on Left side of road, followed by some shops and leading us to some restaurants and one Dhaba. DHaba...that's sounds familiar :) we went inside. asked about what we can have..and finally ordered some Veg Nepali thali..u can eat it you drop and the flavors were refreshing and just what we wanted...fresh and tasty. As we all know...no Indian breakfast or brunch is incomplete with a Cup of Tea...we ordered one for each of us.. again..we were happy...why?? coz the Size of cup and qauntity were as per our Punjabi Standards..and tasted good too. and If you worried about costs...it was 150 rs Nepali currency per Veg Nepali Thali and Tea..20-30 nepali currency. So dear travellers...especially Asian...straight away go to this place..and have your meals. You will save some money and get a real good nepali food taste.More
