Good hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is good with options. Room is very spacious with all amenities. Recommand for family stay.
This is a recently (as of November 2017) rebuilt hotel. I may have been the first guest in the room. I never saw what was on the site before, so cannot comment on how much was improved. After trekking, my friends and I were thrilled...to have a clean bathroom and air conditioning. The linens were spotlessly clean and the mattress comfortable. My room was quiet. Two problems, which have probably been fixed by now: 1. Hot water was erratic. One night, there was none at all. 2. The kitchen was still being organized and the organization of the breakfast buffet was clumsy. A bigger problem: Nescafe at breakfast!! Yuck, enough said. All in all, the Norbu Linka is a decent place to stay. There are some excellent restaurants around the corner for dinner. I do not know if the hotel's restaurant is open for dinner (it was not in Nov. of 2017).More
It was one of my best stay. Staff was amazing and so was the food. I would love to stay there again. Thanks Norbulinka hotel for taking good care of me and my family.
Best in class hotel. Every penny worth for the facilities they provided me. Family environment hotel with good laws in, foods, bedrooms and best hospitality.
We stayed here in may 2014 in a suite room and it was lovely to have room to move after traveling for the previous 3 weeks. Our room was clean, the shower was hot and had pressure and the wi fi worked. Breakfast was included...and there was plenty to choose from. We booked our everest flight through the hotel and everything ran smoothly. It was easy to get around the Thamel area. We enjoyed our stay here. I would stay here again.More

Voluntarily relocated hear after other hotel advised it due to recent construction noise. Quiet residential nook with some barking dogs. Adjacent building under construction but no construction work seen/heard. Advertised safety deposit boxes were unvailable. Some internal "repai" noises at 8 am. Serious hot water,...good cold water. All plumbing worked OKAY. Combo tub/shower with some signs of age around standard-sized pink tub. Hotel has generator/inverter to compensate with lack of electrical mains power but only some outlets work off inverter/generator-supplied circuits (no TV/frigde/outlets/heater). Wall-mounted heater failed on day-2, replaced by portable heater that worked well (when power was on). Window-mounted air conditioner unit. Single-pane glass windows with poor sound insulation. Fortunately, no traffic noise. Three WiFi zones for complementary Internet access, speeds were OKAY. King bed was comfortable, foam pillows, no clock, dial telephone, minibar with canned beers. Five floors with terrace patio on 5th floor three patio tables and chairs. WiFi coverage did not work. No lift. Mechanical key attached to card to enable room electricity. Suite layout with sofa and chairs. Off-center view of flat-screen TV. TV had some English-language stations, no pay movies, mostly national stations. No closet! Odd, empty unfinished 3 by 3-meter room. Recption area with Internet PC (when power is on) and sofas. Adjacent restaurant space with a few tables. Breakfast served there 05:00-10:00. Egg Station is minimalist, two juice towers run empty by 09:30 (orange and mango), cerals seen but no milk seen, tea bags and instant coffee. Glass doors open to adjacent patio with walled seating area but numerous ciarette smokers. Adjacent indoor seating for restaurant/cafe with noisy TV audio of local TV news and staff playoing cellphone videos. Bottled Everest beer. Regional food dishes.Bills include 10% service charge followed by compounded 17% tax. Nice central Thamel location, but lack of street signs and street lighting make walking problematic and excessive automobile traffic makes walking hazardous. Lots of nearby restaurants and bars, if you can find them. Hotel -supplied map does not event have street names (probably because there are no names). Overall, a nice quiet place with friendly staff, centrall-located. Roof-top terrance is a nice get-away, no drinkl/food service but can order room service for delivery there.More
