I don't understand why most people in the hospitality industry assume that if someone is from a different ethnicity they cannot afford or dine at fancy restaurants. This was purely a racists experience, none of the other guest were treated like us- we got shouted...at because we didn't give the right number of people for the table setup. We wait ages for someone to attend to us, We then wait another close to an hour to get our drinks and food served. My brother was proposing to his girlfriend and we explained this to the waitress but no one cared to help with a proper setup or proper champagne popping or even congratulations. It's common knowledge that you make your guests feel welcomed and comfortable by all means. Unfortunately this was not the case at all at The Stellenbosch Wine Bar and BistroMore

This is the highest rated restaurant in Windhoek and I’m sorry to say - it’s fine, but it’s far from great. We ate a 3-course meal with great starters (carpaccio and caprese), ok mains (catch of the day and tortellini) but substandard deserts (tasteless crème...brûlée and dry death by chocolate). We are coming out of a pandemic and many restaurants have struggled, but this was simply not up to scratch. Service was friendly but non attentive.More

The steak had no seasoning, the chefs salad had no character or excitement an the lettuce was not fresh. It looked lifeless The brownie was not moist, seemed a bit dry. The ice cream was melting the moment it landed on the table. But I...enjoyed the serviceMore

We ate here on a Friday night in early September at the end of a two week tour of the country. What a send-off! We sat outside in the courtyard, which had a buzzy atmosphere, beautiful lighting and an appealing fountain in the middle. The...food did not disappoint. We tried the pork belly with sweet chili sauce and the game steak with potatoes. Both were spectacular. The chocolate mousse for dessert was delightfully rich, and the wine selection was as impressive as you'd expect. We appreciated the mix of affordable and expensive bottles. Highly recommended for a special meal in Windhoek.More

The atmosphere was beautiful and clean. The food was okay. However, the staff kept on staring and pointing at our table which made us feel uncomfortable and top of that, the waiter demanded we give him a tip. When my friend gave him the tip...he looked at her with the most disgusting and disrespectful manner. He laughed in our faces and said she can keep it.It was her birthday and she wanted us to celebrate it there specifically but the way he treated her literally spoiled her night.I wanted to plan events there such as meetings etc but I most definitely would rather go to Hotel Thule where they are more welcoming,do not judge customers or demand tips and their food is excellent too.More

Came here during lockdown and everything was closed an empty. They did have takeaway service though. The burger was huge and pretty tasty, altough the breat crumbled in our hands and was probably a day old. The pizza was really bad, felt like it was...a heated up 3$ pizza straight from the freezer. Hope this is better after the lockdown.More

We came here based on reviews as we had one night in Windhoek. The food is so delicious, the waitstaff is friendly and the atmosphere is great. When weather messed up our plans, we ended up having to stay in Windhoek for a second night...and we decided to come back again since our first meal was so good. The second meal was just as good, if not better. Definitely come to this restaurant, you'll love it!More

Great selection of salads, appetizers, and mains in this picturesque courtyard setting. Good selection of local wines and service was timely and polite.
