The view of the bend in the river and the gorge is unsurpassed. The food was also good. My spouse and I had kebabs - crocodile and warthog, respectively. They were beautifully presented and the accompanying vegetables/potatoes were very tasty. Warthog strongly resembles pork, and each meat kebab came with a sauce that complemented the meat. Not cheap ($18 and $22 USD respectively) but the local beer was only $3.

This is a lovely place to visit after seeing the falls, they have an amazing view of the gorge and great service. We went for lunch and ordered a toasted cheese and tomato sandwich so not sure of the quality of other meals but were served lovely warm bread rolls to start with and my sandwich and fries were nice. The service was really good without being intrusive.
The restaurant also drops you back to your hotel free of charge depending on where you stay.

Great service in restaurants is hard to find in Southern Africa - these guys do a great job and the veiw from here is something to behold.
I like their burgers but was with a lady who is gluten free and has a ton of allergies she said her food was the best as part of a 25 day african tour.
Also if you talk to the chef in advance the vegan options are apparently pretty good as well.

Beautifully located, offering and incredible view of the gorge and the bridge in the background…In normal circumstances you would probably see zip-liners zipping by, but we were there at the beginning of the rainy season and of the corona pandemic.
Lovely atmosphere and well decorated. Pity, the food wasn’t really good. I ordered the smoked salmon and avocado wrap but was told they didn’t have avocado, so went for the vege burger but wasn’t made clear that they were totally out of avocado and my vege burger came without it and really wasn’t good. They were kind enough to change for a cheese and tomato toasted sandwich but it was cold and again not good…The server heated for me the half while I was eating the other half… Nevertheless it was the worst toasted cheese sandwich I ever tasted.
If they could bring their food up to par with the rest. They have all that is needed to make this restaurant tops. Maybe I was just unlucky but three strikes? Perhaps it was because the pandemic was starting and they were not replenishing their stock but my cold toasted sandwich while there were practically no customers? NO excuses here.
It was a real disappointment after reading many positive reviews…
The food experience was surely memorable but unfortunately, not in a good way.

This was EASILY the best place to eat on our 5 nights at the Falls. And a place we went to more than once. We feel lucky to have visited just as it re-opened after a devasting fire closed the premises for more than a year.
The food and drinks service are excellent. But to be honest I would have eaten cardboard just to get the view of the gorge. This bar/cafe must rank as one of the best located anywhere in the World

This is a fantastically located restaraunt overlooking the Zambezi River and the mists of the Victoria Falls. The food and service is excellent.
Wild Horizons (fantastic team!) offices are next door - so you can organise any of the crazy jumps into the gorge right next to the restaraunt.
I would highly recommend you book the White Water rafting with them - by far the most experienced, professional and helpful team in town!

We pre-booked a lunch to celebrate my birthday. The cafe is in a great location at the end of a gorge which provides a spectacular view during your meal. You can even watch people zip lining whilst you eat.
The decor of the cafe is excellent, the staff very helpful and friendly. Our choices for lunch were salad starters and followed by barbecue pork ribs and a steak sandwich. All the food was beautiful presented, of good quality and very filling. It was nice to enjoy a cocktail with lunch.
Overall it was a great place to enjoy lunch and well worth a visit during a trip to Victoria Falls.

We believe this is a new built, after the original building burnt down in 2019. They have truly come back with a bang!
The only restaurant in Victoria falls with views of the gorge.
This is worth a visit while in the area. It’s probably best to reserve a place because it is quite popular. We chanced it and turned up without a reservation, we were still seated initially at a bar table and then moved to an appropriate table when it became available.
It’s easy to spend the whole day here just soaking in the views and watching people rafting and jumping from the swing.
My partner ordered a lamb burger and he said he would give it a 5 out of 5, probably one of the best burgers he has had in a while. He also ordered a Zambezi and Castle lager. I had a strawberry milkshake. All the drinks were cold and refreshing.
I initially fancied pork ribs but they were not available, the beef ribs were also not available. I eventually settled for steak (medium to well done). The meals were well prepared and it did not take long for us to be served.
The best part is the sitting arrangements in this restaurant. It has the inside outside feel that allows customers to fully appreciate the views around them.
The meals were reasonably priced, we paid US52 for both. We gave the waiter US60 with the intention of asking the waiter to keep the change when he brought it back. The waiter never returned with the change and neither did he say thank you. We found this really weird, though we were happy to tip, it shouldn’t be an expectation unless the customer has indicated this.
This small mishap does not take away the fact that this restaurant is definitely worth a visit.

Lovely venue with great views of the Falls. We stopped here for drinks and snacks after doing a guided bike tour of the area. The homemade lemonade with mint is delicious and it’s fun to watch people do the gorge swing — the restaurant’s patio gives you a front row seat!

I cannot think of any other restaurant with such a beautiful and stunning view. Restaurant is very spacious and the food simply delicious. The prices are a bit steep but for the food you get it’s worth every penny. Staff was very friendly.

The perfect end to a magical Vic Falls experience - we were still a bit wet after our walk around the Falls, but The Outlook Cafe provided a great late lunch at very reasonable prices & great service.
Their version of a Chicken Caesar Salad would not have pleased a connoisseur, with no egg, anchovies, or olive oil + lemon dressing, but it had tons of nice smoked chicken & crunchy lettuce & a small amount of a nice dressing at the bottom.
And if you love a chicken mayo sandwich then you’ll love their version too - but make sure you are very hungry - it’s an enormous quantity of food for an open sandwich.
No complaints around the table from anyone else at either.
Overall a 10/10 lunch for quality & value.
And of course, the views are simply stunning !!

We had dinner here on a recent trip to Zimbabwe / South Africa and was more than happy with our visit.
We walked there during the day to make a reservation for the evening. Walking during the day is fine but, after dark, transport is essential. Our reservation was for late afternoon / early evening and when we arrived were able to pick our table. The view is absolutely stunning. It's on the first bend of the Zambezi as it starts to twist its way through the gorges and you can look right along the gorge to the bridge with the mist from the Falls also visible.
The staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. The menu was an interesting mix of traditional and African (I had baobab mousse which I've never previously experienced - delicious). The meal was very well cooked and presented.
We watched an African sunset, followed by the moon rising behind the Falls through the mist just to the side of the bridge. We even had a passenger train that stopped on the bridge for the passengers to view the Falls as Rhodes demanded when he chose the site for the bridge.
Lots of superlatives in my review and rightly so. It was the outstanding dining experience in our 3 week trip to southern Africa. Prices were very reasonable by Zimbabwe standards although a little more expensive than South Africa,
The icing on the cake was when we left. We had arranged a taxi and asked the waitress to phone him. When he arrived we were pleased to see him as there was a small herd of buffalo in the car park by the exit!

This was a wonderful dinner with a beautiful view of the gorge below Victoria Falls. Being vegan was not a problem as our dishes were easily converted from vegetarian (of which there were a few options). Our waiter, Rollings, was very attentive and professional as was the rest of the staff. We were able to take our time to “dine” with our friends and were never rushed. Very clean. Highly recommended.

Stunning view, amazing decor all in all a great experience . Food was good, steak sandwich and crocodile kabobs very good, burgers had weird texture. Kids didn’t like nuggets but we all can agree we would come back for the excellent service, beautiful decor and the spectacular view. Must see

The Lookout Cafe was recently rebuilt and redesigned, and opened again in December 2019. We were blown away by the restaurant when we visited it after its opening!
The view is one of the very best in Victoria Falls, and you won't find another restaurant like it on the edge of the Batoka Gorge. You are basically hanging above the river below you while you dine. The feeling is nearly surreal as you drink your cocktails and eat your meals in such an open, freeing space that happens to be one of the most famous gorges in the world.
The food is wonderful! Although the menu isn't incredibly big, the meals that are served are delicious, as are the cocktails of course! Dining at The Lookout Cafe is a 5-star experience all round. Total luxury set in nature.
