I found Dusty Road Township online when I was searching for a restaurant in Zimbabwe serving traditional food. I wasn't sure what to expect, but can't say enough about the food and the experience. Plus, you are helping the local community. It's almost like being...welcomed into someone's home and eating a home cooked meal. From the complimentary welcome tastings of local drinks, to starters that use all local ingredients, to a buffet offering local meat and vegetable dishes, to sweet treats and coffee/tea ... everything was amazing. It's definitely worth a trip if you're in Victoria Falls!More

An unbelievable experience, where they show and tell you exactly what local ingredients were used to make each dish. They give a tour of their garden, kitchen, home, etc. and the food was delicious. WONDERFUL experience.

Wow. This was the highlight behind the falls In Zimbabwe. We learn about how traditional dishes were made, got to eat some worms (if you wanted) and ate traditional Zimbabwean food. Sarah the owner introduced herself and the things for the community. This is a...little piece of heaven in Zimbabwe. Go. Just book and go.More

Dusty Road was recommended for us by our host in Victoria Falls and we are very grateful for the suggestion. The food and service were both excellent but, as indicated in many reviews, this is much more than a meal; it is an experience. The...clever 'upcycled' materials used for furnishing, the explanations of how local produce is used in the menu and the warm atmosphere all play a part in making a meal a Dusty Road more of an event.More

OK an education for tourist but such fun with Great Food. Lots of explanation about the different source materials for dishes. Sarah was there to welcome and chat to us about her project. Very much focussed on giving you a grounding. The setting is very...cleverly thought out and unique as a township dwelling with lots of examples of sustainable recycling...way ahead of UK. Food was varied and lovely. Staff friendly. Wow. Dont miss make sure to bookMore

Great Zimbabwean experience in this quaint eatery. We were greeted right away and introduced to how things are made. The ladies explained the herbs, the process and we introduced to the cooks and then walked through a typical Zimbabwean home. We then got to chat...with the owner, Sarah, who told us about her life and how she came about to open this restaurant and helping the community. The food is buffet style and it was a true experience.More

As a local who grew up visiting grandparents and making the most amazing local delicacies, I can without a doubt confirm Dusty Road has truly the most authentic local experience from the food , the aesthetics and everything all around . They were other meals...that I had not had in 10+ years that brought back so many beautiful memories. Most might think it's only for foreigners however it is also for us locals to remember how everyday meals used to be like . I highly recommend this place for everyone.More

This is a great night out for moderate-casual experience. They start by showing you the spices and food that they use to make the food, which is fun. They explain everything to you as you eat. You eat outdoors. The owner is very friendly and...comes and talks with everyone. Definitely an intimate, casual experience.More

The passion the owner Sarah has for her business and the contribution it makes to the youth of the local community is heartwarming. It was great to get even a brief view into her work and the lives of the less fortunate members of the...town. The food was good and there are a great range of quirky souvenirs to take home. Maybe not everyone will like the worms, but I think they were worth trying once .More

An absolutely great experience. The restaurant is located in the Vic Falls township, a quick taxi ride from center. Beautifully decorated, with love and care. Showing creativity in recycling. The menu consists of local products and dishes with an elaborated presentation of each course. The...price (25$) compensates the experience. There is also a great cook book for purchase. Magnificent experience. Check out their web and Instagram account for pictures. They were awarded “Restaurant of the year 2023” by the Twalumba National Travel & Tourism Awards.More

We visited Dusty Road at the end of a 12 day camping safari to celebrate our son’s 21st birthday. The food was all prepared with local sources and every dish was explained to us about where the ingredients come from. It’s a real funky little...quirky eatery, open air, spacious. Set menu is US35 pp and great value. We loved that they sponsor the education of local kids. Some children came to sing and added Happy Birthday in their African song list! So so special!More

What a great experience this is! We loved the styling of the restaurant, the local school children coming to sing, the explanations of the local traditions and ways of making the drinks and food, ingredients etc. We tried some authentic flavours and dishes and although...I can’t say I’m a convert to the Mopane Worm, it was a new experience to try it! If I was rating the food alone, I would say 4* but the whole experience is what bumps it up to 5 for us!More
