We were at CTFM on a weekday afternoon during our first time in Dar. The tide was out when we arrived but came in pretty quickly, and it was spectacular to watch. There is plenty of outdoor seating under the large tree, by the bar,...in garden booths and in the terrace. Despite the heat, all these spots were comfortable. I had the seafood paella. It was the first time I had eaten mussels, and I loved the flavour in the paella. My wife had the chicken Malay curry, which was also good. We later had a lava cake with ice cream. The “lava” wasn’t as molten as I’d have thought, but it was still delicious. The best part of the experience was the service. We were in Dar for an 8-hour layover and were looking for a place to kill a few hours. The staff were very helpful. As soon as we walked in with suitcases, they took them into storage as if it was the most normal thing todo! Our server Janet never rushed us even once, and we were quite relaxed the whole time. She was polite and helped us order. I’d like to give her a special commendation for going the extra mile. When we were leaving in our Uber, I heard a knock on the back of the car. I had left my iPad on the table and Janet had run out onto the street to chase the car, and give it back to us. Congratulations to CTFM for having such honest and kind staff! I will forever be grateful to Janet for returning my iPad.More

Good food, good service, very noisy due to attached bar. The place for the young rich Tanzanians before going out to the club. Average as I thing it is overpriced.

Visited the restaurant for a business lunch.. It is situated at a very nice location. The menu is varied but the quality of seafood can be little better.

Had high expectations as this is a famous restaurant so i went there with my wife on a normal tuesday , with few tables occupied with my wife, sis inlaw and kids. Venue and location is incredible dirext on the beach smerlinger and healing the...ocean in the beautiful restaurant. We expected ro find a fresh varity of fish and seafood, on this wonderfull restaurant with lots of staff. This one of the expensive restaurants , but honestly a big dissapointment! Slow service which is normal i have Concluded in Tanzania even i counted about 20 staff incl open kitchen staff. Lobster not a fresh lobster old trick an open lobster stuffed with some chopped tastles lobstermeat that you easely can use many times during many days. Only one option for a whole fish whis is local full off bones less fish in the menu than our hotel! I ordered surf and Turf as i saw a tempting photo with 4 big prawns, they served a sirloin like leather hard to chew and some octupussy and option rings with fries, after requesting the prawns i was told its the exexutive surf and Turf?? Was not informed! Kids got a dry burger and creamy seafood pasta with dey overcooked prawns even some with Shells! No attention from the lady waitres etcMore

Basically what happened was that I came to the restaurant with a friend of mine for happy hour. This was on Thursday 30th December 2021. The host who welcomed us seemed displeased and insisted that we had to order food to get seated at a certain...location (even though we already had planned on doing so). We finally sit down and another waitress comes to attend to us after a good 15 min. She then harshly repeated that we had to order food to which we calmly explained to her that we were waiting for others and that the plan was to have dinner and drinks (while of course taking advantage of the happy hour).  We got our watered down cocktails, picked out our food from the menu but nobody came to get our food order or to even ask if we needed our refills. This lasted for a good 45 minutes. At this point our other friends were late to arrive and so it was just the two of us. When I called the waitress who took our drink order to attend to us she simply took out her phone and showed us the time: 19:47; to tell us that happy hour was over (basically signaling that we must leave). I complained to her that the food menus were still on the table and that not once did anyone attend to us or even notice the huge menu's still on our table. This waitress rolled her eyes and told me that she was actually serving another table so it doesn't really concern her. She then pointed to the waiter of that section, his name was Waziri. This same waiter was happily serving the next table & did not once turn to even acknowledge us; not even to take the empty glasses which had been sitting there for ages Not once did I hear an apology from either of them. In fact I distinctly remember Waziri's name because he arrogantly showed me his name on his badge so that I may report him.  The cherry on top was when we heard a team of waiters talking about us. I know it was us they were referring to because they specifically mentioned my complaint and one of them mentioned that "it is difficult to deal with customers who lack education".  I really hope that this branch does something about the attitude of their servers as I did not even wish to speak to a supervisor just due to the overall feeling that we were not welcome there. As for me I will not be returning and neither will I convince any of my friends or acquaintances to come. Such a terrible experience!More
