The Depot is one of our favorite spots for beautifully plated seafood. The former train depot has been repurposed into a comfortable restaurant. The tables are far enough apart that it is perfect for a girls night out, family celebration and romantic evening all to...happen in the same location and for each experience to feel special. Staff is attentive and helpful. At this stage in the pandemic management, the restaurant has diners call when they are outside and then come in to be ushered to the table.More

We had dinner -- Strip steak with mashed potatoes and mixed veggies. We ordered a side of Blur Corn / cheese grits. Everything was delightful --steak was as tasty and tender as any we've ever had!! Other than the hostess being a bit "unfriendly" when...we asked to be seated inside instead of outdoors, everything was fantastic.More

This is our go to restaurant, which is tops in every way!! The food is amazing, always SO creative and the presentation beautiful. Service is perfect, they really let one know that your patronage is appreciated. Kudos to Chef Scott, Sous chef Adam, General manager,...Shannon and Wine director Heather. These people know what that are doing and do an extremely excellent job. The service is a well oiled machine with servers being friendly and continue ot check on you through out the meal. Love the ambiance and it's so neat to be dining and the train rumbles by. This is by far the best restaurant in the area. Their fresh seafood offerings are always totally fresh and creative. My husband really enjoys their steaks and the Can Can pork chop. Their broiled oysters are so yummy as are the raw on half shell. Don't miss their desserts--their Bananas Foster creme Brulee Bread Pudding is sinful and totally grand. The bartender does a great job and they have an excellent wine list. I also am so thrilled with their provisions market which offers weekly specials for order beginning noon Monday to noon Wed and pick up after 3 on Friday. They bring in true fresh seafood which can't be found in the groceries, the other meat, veggies, cheese, etc are all excellent. I like to cook and being able to order their fresh seafood is such a great advantage. They always have some new items each week along with the staples. If you haen't tried the provisions market give it a go. Thanks to everyone at The Depot who always makes our dinner experience a relaxing and enjoyable event. When you step inside the door you are greeted by such friendly and fun people, this continues throughout the dining experience. I HIGHLY recommend The Depot!!More

Took a party of four for brunch. Bloody Marys were great. My wife had the fish and chips and thought they were awesome. I had the wagu burger and found it to be a middle of the road burger. Other two in the party had...the eggs with duck fat potatoes....both indicated the eggs were good. Bottomine....good service with over priced middle of the road entrees.More

Everything was perfect, both service and food. The cocktails are unusual and taste great, the entrées are perfectly prepared with fresh ingredients and it was obvious that all reasonable COVID precautions were taken.

A colleague recommended The Depot and it did not disappoint. Michael was a fantastic server; very professional and extremely knowledgeable. I appreciate that the chef strives to utilize local and sustainable products/produce/seafood. The food was absolutely amazing.

Hanging out and around at Auburn University after 50 years was an incredible treat. I couldn’t pull up to Auburn’s famous Sani-Freeze for a spumoni cone—lovingly called “The Flush”— as it was razed many years ago, Close by across the tracks, though, we enjoyed a...“top chef” dining experience at The Depot. The food was extraordinaire as were the entire service staff (especially Michael), the libations, and the restaurant’s attention to Covid protocols. With many fine foods to enjoy, don’t miss the greatest French fries. Mitzi Harris Martin & Jeff AtwoodMore

I enjoy cooking at home as much as, if not more than, being served a good meal at a quality restaurant. When it comes to eating out in Auburn/Opelika, we’re fortunate to have a handful of top-notch restaurants to choose from, and The Depot ranks...solidly among the best. Up until recently, what we did not have in Auburn, is access to top-quality seafood, meat, and poultry ingredients for a home-cooked meal. I’m not talking about the run-of-the-mill stuff you can get at the grocery store, I’m talking about the good stuff, produced and distributed by the southern region’s best farms and food purveyors and, if you live in the Auburn area, generally only available to top restaurants. Enter the recently opened Depot Provisions Market, a lifeline to any home cook who cares about cooking with the best ingredients available. Early in the week, the Provisions Market opens for online ordering through the restaurant’s website. The ordering process is seamless. Orders are available for curbside pickup Friday 3pm-5pm. To a reasonable degree, the Chefs are also receptive to custom orders and special requests. The packaging is perfect. Product comes clean, portioned, and often vacuum sealed. They even supply a bag of ice to keep things nice a cold as you drive home. Among my go-to Depot Provisions Market items are: Gulf Red Snapper Fillet - So fresh you’ll want to set some aside for ceviche before you cook the rest of it. Murder Point Oysters to shuck at home - Direct from one of the best gulf coast oyster farms. Sword Fish Steaks - Already marinated in olive oil, garlic and ready for the grill. Butterflied Carolina Rainbow Trout - Deboned and seasoned. They even hook you up with butter and capers. Main course…ready to go. Peking Duck Breast - Seasoned and sous vide by the Depot kitchen, so that you only need to pan-sear it. Live Maine Lobster – Needs no introduction. They even have pantry items like homemade chicken stock (great time-saver for your meal prep), cheeses from award-winning southern producers, Conecuh bacon (excellent bacon produced right here in AL), par-baked breads to finish off in your oven, locally produced pepper jelly, the list goes on… Bonus points…the beverage director makes a well-priced selection of wines available through the provisions market, many of which you will not find in the grocery store. Thank you to the team at the Depot for putting in the extra work to make the Provisions Market happen. For what it’s worth, you help make living in a global pandemic a lot more bearable.More

My wife and I ventured out for the first time after several months of eating pizza and takeouts during Covid distancing. Our experience at the Depot was like a breath of fresh air. The food was amazing and the service was excellent. We are so...fortunate to have a restaurant of this quality in our hometown. It rates 5 Stars without question. Highly recommended.More

Just seeing your question, but yes, anything casual to dressy, you’ll be welcomed. I had just arrived in town as well, and went in my dressy casual “traveling clothes.” Bon appétit!
