Enjoyed a wonderful dinner on their covered porch- the service was great and the food delicious. It was very busy even though we are still in a pandemic but masks were required and in use which I appreciated. Definitely recommend making a reservation. My only...negative comment is that the Sweet Potato and Rosemary soup came with a chili oil on top which made it too spicy for me. They made me a bowl without it- the soup was delicious! I recommend that they list the chili oil on the menu or at least indicate the soup has some level of spiciness since it was unexpected. All in all a wonderful place to eat kind of out in the middle of the country.More

first of all, fresh juice always makes a bar better, and the drinks with grapefruit juice were expertly prepared--and that always is a great start. Now, everyone raves about he food here and it is exceptional, and the setting is special, and the building is...very well crafted, but I want to speak to the service----so so well done, and THIS is what makes this such a special place to visit, time and time again. Great attitudes, customer focused, a friendly atmosphere, I just cannot say enough about the level of service and what a difference that makes. Well done SpringHouse. Some how, you have "got it".More

Chef Rob has created an outstanding dining experience at Lake Martin. First Class food and service in a wonderful building. My favorite is Sunday Brunch. Great way to end your lake weekend. Have a Bloody Mary to start which is terrific.

Wonderful place for a special occasion (like a birthday). Just can't say enough about how nice it was there.

There are not a lot of good places to eat on Lake Martin. Springhouse is the most uypscale. They chanve their menu very often so there are not "regulars" or "favorites" you can regularly count on. This week's menu was a disappointment. WIth entrees in...the $30 - 60 range, you are hoping for a very solid meal. The chef delights in putting the entree on various vegetables. This is often fine and he uses fresh ingredients. Nothing popped. Their wine selection is broad and will not disappoint. Overall, I was disappointed. My wife was not, having the same entire.. The otehr gentelman in the party was also unhappy but he too had a happy wife. So, a solid 50%. We'll go back as we like the environment, setting and really have limited other options. Will call ahead to see what the entrees are though. Not happy for $133.00More

We had West Indies salad as an appetizer. Perfect! The steak was cooked perfectly and amazing flavor. The vegetable plate dinner was absolutely delicious. Perfect evening in a beautiful atmosphere.

We celebrated our Anniversary with dinner at Springhouse. The food was excellent and creative. We can’t wait to try brunch soon!

Springhouse is overrated and way overpriced for Alabama. It's even more expensive than high end restaurants in Manhattan, New York, where rent and labor cost are really high. Nevertheless, I would not have cared about the exorbitant prices if the dinner was worth it. The...steak was gristly and horrible, the pasta bolognese was bland and did not have enough shredded cheese and most of all, the pan seared fish was supposed to come with root vegetables and BRUSSEL SPROUTS! Guess what - I got 3 leaves of brussel sprouts that didn't even make one sprout! I sent them an email which they blatantly ignored. And all of this at New York prices or even more! Terrible!More

We had the Red Snapper Croquettes which were delicious. My wife had the Gulf Shrimp Pirlou with rice which was a little different with the fennel, but very tasty. Pirlou is often associated with low country boils. I had the Crispy Speckled Trout which was...extraordinary with the corn remoulade. The Sauvignon Blanc paired well with both entrees. And for dessert we had the Peach Tart. It was good but I will have the cobbler next time. This is fine dining at its best. Our bill was $170, including tip. The staff was knowledgeable & attentive.More

There is no dress code. I would suggest "lake casual" which can be kaikis and a golf shirt. I have worn nice shorts with a "tucked in" shirt. Nice blue jeans are acceptable. Most anything nice other than beach cover ups will... More
