We had a very nice lunch here with my husband on a rainy and cold April day. Service is polite and our food came right on time. The chicken soup and the venison (both variations) were excellent. This restaurant deserves a better place in the...list of Sopron's restaurants in my opinion.More

Great food. Our family thoroughly enjoyed all the dishes. The chef was ingenious in various different ways he handled the simple potatoes. Convenient location near the must visit Fire Tower too.

We loved the food and the athmosphere. All of our 5 dishes were just delicious and the price was good for such a quality. I only regret I couldn't try the wines but we had to drive after the meal. I recommend this place to...anyone who visits Sopron.More

The food in this place is ok, but just ok, nothing special. The gnocchi with wilde ragu were the best thing we ordered, everything else was very average.

Good food, big portions(as usual), the food arrived quickly and the plating was ok. A minus was that the gnocchi was not homemade, though the chicken was good. I would strongly recommend you to go here, great prices for solid food!

I enjoyed my meal here. It was a generous serve, reasonably priced and the service was efficient and with a smile.

Restaurant is located into basement what is probably giving the interior little smelly odor and small flies are trying to test your wine.... but food was very tasty and service as well. We had green pie soup (average) and goose soup (really good one), goose...leg with cabbage and dumplings, beef steak with grilled vegetables- all really nice. Dry local red wine accompanied the dishes well. Prices are very reasonable.More

We visited the restaurant with family and a dog, possibly it was the first restaurant visit for the dog (5 years old, rescued), but she behaved well... and she was after her dinner, and we were hungry. The building is old, but the place furnished...in modern style, also I think this is the goal of the kitchen too, you can find fresh, not-so-heavy meals near the traditional Hungarian dishes. I specially loved the home-made lemonades. Service was fast and very attentive. Highly recommended.More

Lonely Planet recommends this place as a ‘cosy cellar’. The building is certainly old, but over-renovation and furniture choices have removed whatever atmosphere it might have once had. The modern chairs and overall decoration make it cold and uninviting. Also, radio was playing through the...sound system very loudly. Paprika veal was served quickly but nothing to write home about. If you’re after a meal in a cosy atmospheric setting in Sopron, try Puskás (Várkerület 83) or Stubi (Balfi utca 16) instead (reviews of both forthcoming).More

I was visiting a friend in Austria and we took the opportunity to cross the border into Hungary to visit Sopron. This restaurant is below the roman walls and on a walkway to the central square which is where we sat but there is a...courtyard inside and seating downstairs if required. I had the goulash soup, what else to try but their native dish and it was excellent. The service was good and the waiter understood English although my Austrian friend ordered the food. There was a good choice of food and the prices were reasonable.More

We ate traditional Hungarian goulash and garlic soup served in a loaf of bread. While the soup was somewhat average, the goulash was a disaster, too salty (so much you couldn't eat it), and the spices tasted funny. The food wasn't too expensive, but definitely...overpriced. The waiter didn't know English (he barely knew some German), so it wasn't easy to order.More

My husband I were with a large group of employees from his company that we were visiting in Sopron. We had a reservation at another restaurant nearby but the power was out so we moved on to Graben and they were able to take us...right away. We had a nice big table inside (too cold to sit outside) and the interior is a neat old cave-like room with traditional décor. It was our first night in Hungary and so we were keen to try traditional Hungarian food and they did a good job. They provided a menu in English and one of the servers spoke a little English. I loved the garlic soup and I also enjoyed Veal Paprika. The restaurant has a nice outdoor area that would be a good place to sit in nice weather. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone going to Sopron.More

Enter from the street walk through to the back courtyard to sit beneath the Roman wall! This area is also a walkway to the central square. The soups and mains were excellent and the service exquisite. Head waiter spoke very good English and was very...accommodating and professional. The price was fantastic for quality, we went twice while in town!More
