I wanted to try some Hungarian dishes, so I had Gulyasleves and Hortobagyi, and they’re very good ! Atmosphere and service were great too!

Dropped in there during our city tour for a quick lunch. As the restaurant is a bit off from the main attractions normally not overcrowded even during peak hours. We received what was expected: a nice resraurant (with garden), good range of plates, quality food...and nice service.More
Stopped here for a dinner, big portions, decent prices, nice and big terrace. Menu is very big and diverse. You'd really need a lot of time to look it through. Staff speaks English, menu is in English as well. Accepts credit cards
Dishes are in general tasty and well prepared although not all are at the same level of quality or type of taste. Quality of service is up to the person, after our waitress was changed everything went well. Recommend for people, who like large portions...and countryside spicy tastes.More
Kiváló házias ízek és hatalmas adagok. Ide csak akkor érdemes jönni ha nagyon éhes az ember :) Mi kipróbáltuk a steak-et és nem csalódtunk, nagy adag volt és rendkívül finom. Great tastes, homemade feeling and huge portions. It's better to save your appetite for this...place :) We tried the steak and we were not disappointed: big portion, very good taste and low price.More
The restaurant is located in a quiet, but easily accesible place. The interior was cozy. I first tried the Jókai bean soup, it was good, but the main course, Angus steak, was even better, perfect medium cooked. It's worth leaving space for the dessert. The...staff is very friendly, I can only recommend this place. More
I was recommended this place by some local friends and I was not disappointed. The restaurant is so nice and cozy, the atmosphere and the design is great and nostalgic, the waitstaff is really really pleasant, nice and polite. And of course the most important,...the food! It was really tasty and the portions are huge - if you aren't a huge eater, the half portion of most of the dishes will probably suffice - you can get full for like 7€, and the whole portion for around 9 € is like two HUGE pieces of meat and a bowl of side dish. :D If you don't manage to eat your meal, they offer to pack so you can take home the rest. Recommended and we will definitely return if we visit Sopron. First class cuisine and specialties, even affordable by students.More
You can eat delicious food on very big!! plates! If you like the Hungarian meals, here you can eat a lot for a good price.
We liked this place a lot. Cute interior, good service. Innovative menu well prepared at reasonable prices. Massive proportions; come hungry. Highly recommended!
Interesting name, but very-very good service and food. Friendly, cheap prices....we are satisfied.....
I ate dinner at Jegverem while in Sopron on business. I ordered a grilled chicken dish which came with potato croquettes. The croquettes were great but the chicken was just average. The breading wasn't quite as crispy as I prefer my grilled chicken and the...beasts were very thin. The atmosphere and bar are great though - would recommend this restaurant if you're in the area.More
We didn't have reservation, but we were lucky we had a table for two despite it was a Saturday night. The staff is more than friendly and nice. The meals are very tasty and served nicely. The dumplings were amazing with peach inside. This restaurant...is in the city, you can park near to it on the street. They have rooms as well. The restaurant is recommended.More
The price for the menu is 1500 Forint. They gave us hot water with tasteless pasta in it. The second serve was quite better bot wasn't worth 1500 Forints. Never eat there
Portions are large in Hungary, and you're often best off skipping appetizers. Even so, the mains at Jegverem can easily feed 2 people -- and I'm not even talking about the dishes that are meant to serve 2 or 4 people, as indicated on the...menu. The chicken roulades stuffed with goose liver, cream cheese and mustard are quite good (they're served with rice AND fries, in case you haven't eaten for a week). The venison cutlets are smaller, and a bit disappointing: berry sauce is too sweet and overpowering, cutlets aren't very tender. Avoid the red house wine, which was corked and undrinkable -- a shame in a wine-producing region.More
We had a very nice meal in very pleasant surroundings. There is an outside part in a kind of courtyard. I had the venison and my partner had beef stew with dumplings marinaded in the local red wine. Food was presented beautifully. The service was...superb and the advice not to have a side dish of vegetables was good advice.More
