We had an amazing meal here. It was great being able to try traditional Slovenian food, but vegetarian and vegan alternatives. We had the dumplings (with the cheese and onion sauce) which were so good, and an incredible cabbage salad with pumpkin seed oil which was so fresh and delicious (we don't particularly recommend the mushroom polenta). We also came back a second time just for their pumpkin seed icecream which was lovely. The waiting staff were really friendly and made good recommendations, and the prices were very reasonable (we had read a few reviews saying it was a little pricey, but actually, this seemed like some of the best food at a good value that we had in Ljubljana). After a disappointing meal the next day we wished we'd come back a third time :P Would definitely recommend for veggies/vegans.

Absolutely loved this very reasonably priced restaurant. There were a few traditional slovenian foods that I wanted to try, and my waiter was happy to offer me a plate of small portions so I could try a few things as I was travelling alone. My meal was served with a bottle of pumpkin seed oil on the side, which is one of my favourite things about eating out in slovenia! I would highly recommend this restaurant and it's in a very central location.

They were very busy as there was no space outside, but they let us sit inside in a separate part of the restaurant by the toilets (there seems to be two or three entrances to different self contained areas). It was quiet in that section but we didn't mind. The poor waiter seemed to be dashing about by himself so service was a bit slow, but friendly. There was so much choice on the menu, we didn't know what to get or what went with what so we ordered poorly! We didn't realise that nothing came with vegetables and we hadn't ordered any salads or veg (they do cabbage and pickled beans). The seitan Bograč goulash starter was very nice and came in a hanging pot which was cool. I made the mistake of just getting dödöle for my main which was far too stodgy (baked flour and potato dumplings with onions and cream) and I couldn't eat it all. I should have had it with the starter. My partner had dark vegan steak with I think deep fried potato balls. We didn't try dessert as we were stuffed full of beige stodge. I would rather eat fresh veggie dishes that the fake meat alternatives. We stopped here a second time for turnip soup and some wine as part of a food tour and I would say the turnip soup was excellent, highly recommended.

We celebrated my husbands birthday, the food was ok. But! The service is TERRIBLE. The young waiter was rude and arrogant. We orderded also goat cheese which was a total rip off, we got three slim pieces for 15 eur! We orderd wine and when I asked.the waiter for info, from where the wine comes from, he was quiet! He did not even bother to answer me. And they didnt even bother to put white wine bottle in the cooler! When i kindly asked them to do so, 4 waiters just watched me as if I fell off the Moon. Well, we got the wine cooler, but one should get that automaticly. I had to ask for it after half and hour! If you put prices like this, you expect normal service! After we finished, we had to wait 10 minutes for the dirty dishes to be picked by arrogant staff. You know what? We didnt feel wellcome, so...they will not sem our money again, hope this helps fellow travelers.

I visited Gujzina with family visiting, including two older people. The waiter was rude from the beginning, it took him forever to take the order. When the two older people asked him something, he rudely replied that everything is written in the menu - not even considering that they don't see well and that they just kindly asked him for help. It pains me to think that he acted like that towards them. When asked to recommend us wine, the waiter was once again rude and dismissive. For all the money we ended up spending there, we didn't even get a basket of bread to go with the soup. As much as their food is tasty, it is not worth going there if the service stays as bad - it will ruin your evening.

Me and my friend ordered salads (they were quite pricy but what the hell) Pumpkin oil was supposed to be in my friends salat, she could not even taste it, we also realized there were no salt, popper and oil on the table (which is a standard in restaurants in Slovenia). When we asked for the oil, the waitress for quite defensive, claiming that 'the oil is already in the salat'. After hesitation, she broth ..literally 2 spoons of pumpkin oil in miniature bowl. Well, we would laugh and forget about the incident, but we were charged 2 € (!!!) for the extra oil. Shame on you Gujzina, never again.

The pumpkin soup was the best part of the meal. The ham hock was tough, salad boring and covered in oily dressing, croquette tasted like reconstituted potato. The dessert cake wasn’t great either. The wine was expensive, but good and the waiter pleasant enough, but overall not a great experience.

Good local food from Prekmurje region an good service at reasonable prices. Try Gibanica (moving cake). Waiters know what to recommend and they really are nice and friendly. This is the place to go to if you want to experience a gourmet experience specific for Zprekmurje, SE region.

I wasn't familiar with Slovenian food, and was even more surprised to learn that there was a restaurant that served this with a vegan / vegetarian twist. We tried the DÖDÖLE, and the BOGRAČ, but my favorite was the pumpkin seed oil that came with the board of yummy goat cheese and bread, and the PREKMURJE, a dessert which was loaded with poppy seeds. The total meal with drinks was pricey, but we were okay with that as we were on vacation. Our server was initially reserved, but then thanked us when she saw other patrons ordering what we'd had, based on our recommendation.

Excellent food and super friendly staff ❤️ I tried home made vegan plate for starter and baked dödöle with vegan bograč. I couldn’t decide on deserts, so I ordered chocolate pudding with soy whipped cream and took all vegan pies to go. I will definitely come back, need to try every item on the menu. Keep up the good work ❤️

The restaurant doesn't take reservations, yet you can try to reserve a table on the website. That doesn't make much sense. They say the would fix it, you just need to have these things done. Anyway the place was popular so waited in line and only after 20 min got a table. After the seating we waited 20-25 min before a someone attended us. The waitress was rude and obviously didn't care to be there. The food didn't take that long time, and was ok, but I surely didn't get understand the hype about this place. There was a party of 4 next to us who left, because they got no service. The next party of 4 also left because they got no service either. We saw the staff was checking phones in the bar or was next door smoking. We had more fun counting how many people would leave the restaurant than enjoying the stay. In the end, the waitressed wished us a nice evening when she dropped off the bill. In the bill holder there was written that gratuity was not included in the bill.

This place was recommended by a foody vegan friend of mine. I went there for lunch and for dinner. The staff was really attentive with my questions as i wanted to have slovenian wine that will complement my roast turnip soup and my goat cheese and tomatoes salad. Fresh food, sweet wine and a great coffee and dessert. Lively street to have lunch on your own. Reasonnable price. My friend and i went back the day after for dinner and i was great by a huge smile!!!

The food lacks soul and character, the workers are completely unenthusiastic, and the boss is loud. The aesthetics seem ancient and i cant really imagine what a celiac person could experience.. And at the end you overpay. I only enjoyed wine.

We thought we had the opportunity to eat traditional Slovenian food in a vegan form which sounded quite nice. The Dödele with 2 sauces were actually interesting and tasty which is why I give 2 stars. The vegan steak was an absolute disaster, the dark and the light one. It is the disgusting cheapest Seitan that is sold in Balkan supermarkets. You get 2 pieces of it with an okay tasting sauce and 3 Dödele which are the best part of this 18€ (!) main dish. I don't suggest anybody to eat here. It is a scam considering the price.

As lifelong vegetarians we were excited at the idea of eating Slovenian veggie food without the meat. However, the veggie sausages were poor. Quorn supermarket sausages would have been better. The potatoes with it were good but €16 for 2 sausages and potatoes is a joke, traditional or not. The cheese starter was the best bit of the meal - a good selection of hard cheeses that were spicy or herby. The dumplings with onion cream were tasteless. I have never pushed a plate back - but I did this time. My daughter liked the first couple of mouthfuls of her tagliatelle, but stopped then because it was loaded with cream and little else. Over all, we were so disappointed. I would recommend you do not go. There are plenty of other places that have veggie or vegan options.
