Beautiful afternoon tea, one of the best I’ve had, and a wonderful evening meal too. We will be going back!

Not our first visit but the simple fact we keep going back says a lot. Outstanding Mediterranean style food. Be sure you ask about the size of the food you order. You can overwhelm yourself very quickly and it would be a shame to not...More

Great and very hard working staff. Very good service. Somewhat chilly restaurant. Lunch Christmas. Mackerel Mouse as a starter was lovely. Main, turkey was quite dry, otherwise lovely. Pudding we all enjoyed but very predicable and rather boring! My real complaint and I never usually...More

Well I went back again to enjoy Sunday lunch and I wasn’t disappointed. The mackerel mousse was a treat followed by a tremendous Boeuf Burgingnoine. My guest enjoyed the Pate, roast beef and trimmings followed by a fantastic Christmas Pudding and Brandy sauce. Left fully...More

We last visited the Sparling about 2 years ago and decided to not bother again due to the poor service/food and the fact that the then owner appeared to enjoy serving himself wine/spirits rather than his customers. A couple of changes in management followed and...More

Roomy, spacious, The Sparling offers welcomingly accommodating attention with all duly traditionally expected natural (- normal. of course) warm friendliness. From their decently plentiful menu on offer, their portions served are tastily wholesome and filling, such that value for money is fully and duly honoured....More

Haven't tried many of the dishes but I do know that there are a good variety of vegetarian options available (cannot guarantee how many are vegan as I didn't examine the menu that closely)
