I went to this place and was served a meal where the fillet was well overdone, in spite of me asking the waiter to make sure the Kitchen is aware that the steak will be send back if over cooked. In spite of the friendly...request, it was send back. My wifes fish had water oozing from it. The manager gave us a voucher and invited us back to rectify the experience...... Now this is where it went really wrong. On our return , I ordered the rump, with the same request and explanation of what happened the previous time. The worst piece of meat I ever had arrived, again over cooked, with a large piece of sinew and fat attached. When showed to the manager he was horrified and and replaced the meat with more promises. The next piece of rump arrived , yet again well over cooked, the managers response was "OMG I cannot believe this". We then decide to leave , but he insisted that they will prepare a third piece of rump, (3x main course, must be some kind of record) this time by the executive chef. We decided to call it a day, when the dessert mousse arrived and it was not a mousse. Just stay away, it is a tourist trap, with low quality meat and food and untrained staff in the kitchen.More

The food was nice, but not wow. But our waiter was wow, he really tried to get the best wine for us and he was super friendly and helpful.

Always awesome but this visit exceeded awesome! The young gent who served us and I'm embarrassed to say I forget his name but he looks like a younger Breyton Paulse, was fantastic. Quick and efficient and completely on top of his service! He seemed to...just know when it was the right time to come to the table and even picked up on it that it was a birthday... We didn't tell him but he overheard it and wow! A choice of cake to end a spectacular breakfast! I had the cheesecake! We'll be back, again! Certainly the best breakfast outing I know and we drive from Cape Agulhas just to visit there! Great atmosphere, awesome food and intriguing displays.More

I was quite optimistic when I saw the menu! Unfortunately the chef managed to produce Kingklip so tasteless and dry I was convinced that it was prepared in a microwave. Even the butter rich caper sauce could not revive it. My sides were okay, but...no love in the preparation, the mashed vegetables were not even mashed properly. The waitress simply ignored my complaint when I told her. So why 3 stars? Well my partners line fish was cooked well, and no complaints from the inlaws. An unfortunate average where with some care it could easily have been good.More

This place is amazing. We had the line fish (yellowtail), calamari and a beet salad. The best seafood we had during our two weeks in South Africa. From the outside this place looks like a casual diner, but when you walk inside it has a...much nicer ambiance with a northern right whale skeleton hanging from the rafters and a museum- like display on a famous local historical shipwreck. My only recommendation would be to request a table near the fireplace as the air is cold if you are near the door when people enter or exit. Would definitely eat here again.More

Nice spot and friendly staff but food was disappointing. The seafood platter was over-cooked, the linefish was dry and the mussels were drowned in a creamy sauce. Go there for typical pub food, but don’t try anything else.

Ate here at short notice. Big room with marine skeletons as decoration. Service was good, beer fine and food was average but also fine. Good value but little atmosphere

I waited here for 5 hours whilst my husband went on a shark dive. Places to sit comfortably whilst I waited, plus food, drink, loos and a gift shop.

This is a very busy place but the service is excellent and the seafood great. I enjoyed the kelp & mussel broth and the Abalone & mushroom basket.

Great food, service & ambiance. Abalone was delicious - they are one of the few licensed restaurants to serve it! Will be back when next travelling through Gansbaai

Very good option in Gansbaai. Nice setting and interesting with the whale skeleton on view. Very good hake and calamari with good hand cut chips. Crisp light batter, big portions and calamari was fresh and grilled to perfection. Good wine list. Not overly expensive. Worth...visitingMore

A Sunday drive took us to Kleinbaai, where we 'found' The Great White House. A hospitable welcome, good food and friendly service encourage a return visit. During our second visit, we decided this was an ideal venue at which to celebrate the new year -...so we booked an overnight stay. Our 'fisherman's cottage', with luxury linen and everything we needed, was spacious, well-appointed and comfortable. A fun-filled evening with entertainers Matt Stern and Anza, good wine, excellent cuisine and gracious service made this a memorable experience. We'll be back.More
