1876 Bar and Restaurant is a distinctive & much valued landmark of Queenstown. The old stone courthouse building was erected between November 1875 and September 1876. The Old Courthouse is one of the few structures that survive from Queenstown's early gold mining days. Now over 130 years on 1876 offers an upmarket menu, relaxed atmosphere, great service & friendly staff. With the option of indoor and outdoor dining 1876 is definitely the place to be. During the winter season we will have live music between Wednesday and Sunday nights.

We dined at this restaurant twice during our stay in Queenstown. We tried the fish and chips and the hamburger and fries. Both dinners and the draft beer were quite good. They have daily specials on food and drinks.
Good vegetarian choices, we tried wrap and veggie burger and both were really good. Desserts are good but nothing exceptional. $5 beer all day, it was a sunny day, the outside terrasse was crowded, prices for lunch are reasonable.
An apparently new pub in the centre of town, very busy because of cheap food and drink, but a good place to hang out. A New Zealand equivalent of UK’s Wetherspoons.
This place, like the rest of Queenstown is ‘jumping’ there is a great atmosphere,...More

There is a reason this place is always busy. The best prices in town. We got the nightly dinner special and it was good pub food. We got table service from a waitress. Great place to hang out.
Probably the busiest bar in town. You'll find this place crowded with mostly the younger demographic, can get pretty loud and rowdy. Advertised outside the bar with a $5 beer sign, one just could not resist the value.
One cool feature of this place is...More

After walking past several times this week, I can now see why this place is pumping all afternoon, and no doubt well into the night. A large pint glass of tap beer ($4) and the same of cider ($5), during happy hours 4:00-6:00pm, and then...More
I asked the DJ if he could play a song and had written the song on my phone and the DJ literally looked at my phone and threw it across the room. So rude and aggressive especially when I was so polite to him. This...More
