From the moment we entered we felt part of a family. Angie the owner was attentive and knowledgeable with fine wines and drinks. Fiona attended us and was most gracious to any questions we had. There is choice of dishes from a three or four...course menu. A must visit if in Melbourne.More

We ate here today after having read all the good reviews and were not disappointed. The food, service and drinks were all excellent. A lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon, we will definitely return.

We celebrated our anniversary here recently. Angie always gives such a warm welcome, as though she is inviting you into her own home, which I guess it is in a way, as she and Guy have clearly invested so much of themselves in making Epocha...such a special dining experience. It is an atmospheric restaurant, rustic but cosy, with a host of delightful decor features - lighting which highlights the Victorian high ceilings, chairs which just give a hint of Angie’s homeland Greece and little touches like the hooks discretely placed in the wainscotting so you can hang your things right by your table if you wish. AND you can enjoy conversation while you savour the cuisine - no loud music with which to compete. Hallelujah! Despite the very significant challenges of multiple lockdowns in Victoria, the food at Epocha has remained consistently of the highest quality, with delicious variety. We love the way a little complimentary culinary treat arrives to have with our pre-dinner drink. The degustation menu is scrumptious and always different - scallops done in a secret way and served in elegant shells (complete with a “ Happy anniversary “ message!), a surprise extra entree of gnocchi made with four cheeses, melt-in-the mouth beef/ pork for mains with complex little side veggies and wicked duck fat potatoes. Another surprise before dessert, with an interesting glass of Skinos as palate cleanser, served in beautiful tiny crystal stemmed glasses. We could barely fit in the Crepes Suzette with vanilla bean icecream. Yum! All throughout this wonderful dining experience, Angie listens carefully to what style of wine you would like and, from her vast experience, always manages to broaden our horizons with a new style and sometimes it comes from very close to home, like Geelong. It is expensive, but you will not be disappointed. Give yourself a treat and dine at Epocha. No snobbery, just hospitality at its best.More

It was the first time we’ve been out at a restaurant for (Orthodox)Easter lunch. What an incredible experience it was! The venue is gorgeous. The menu was a marvelous and generous range of traditional Elyros-style entrées, main and dessert. The professional service was impeccable -...they were all happy to engage in a warm way, explaining, advising on Greek drinks and even sharing a story or two. We felt so nurtured! The food was beyond delicious, prepared with so much care for ingredients. I was gobsmacked at the inter weaving of ingredients. This was topped off with a long lingering walk in the Exhibition Gardens opposite. This culinary experience exceeded all expectations!More

It was great to be reminded what true professional hospitality was today at lunch, service was impeccable. Knowledge of obscure European wine was fantastic, matched to our taste near on perfect. We really enjoyed the modern take on classic dishes and found the set menu...great value. Lovely experience Thank youMore

Walking in to Epocha is like coming home. Just as we arrived my friend said “I’ve just sat down and I already want to book again” It’s so good to be back! Food was spot on. By far the best patè in Melbourne without a...doubt. I was brave and tried a funky German Chardonnay and yes it was different but when you’re at Epocha let Ang mix it up for you. The warmth and genuine, sincere hospitality is what brings me back time and time again. Thank you Guy, Ang and Disa!More

Presenting European foods, and in all aspects , service, food , price... stunning.... we had Sunday set price 3 course lunch and ordered vegetarian. no issue AND no lazy chef "here is some ravioli". The number of servings was varied and ample for 3 of...us, we all agreed some of the best food we have had. no appearance in being rushed to eat within 2 hours, so quite a leisurely time. service was discreet and all food placed on the table explained. had coffee at the end which was as good as it gets ( In Melbourne!!!) will be returning if only to sit outside and have coffee and cake.More

We had our small wedding of 20 people in the Maybelle Room recently and we couldn’t have been happier! The event manager answered any questions we had and catered to all needs prior. All ran smoothly from the ceremony to the dinner, with seamless service...that was unnoticeable but ever present and faultless food accompanied by stunning wines. The shared plates included antipasto platters, tomato eel & feta starter, succulent hot meats and their famous duck fat roast potatoes topped off by a tris of tasty deserts. The canapés we chose as an extra to start with were creative and impressive at the same time. The Maybelle room is a private room upstairs that overlooks the Carlton Gardens and has a bar attached if required. The ambiance is quite beautiful and everyone commented on it all making us feel quite proud of our decision in choosing Epocha for this important day.More

Porsche Melbourne took us for a most enjoyable lunch. Our selected dishes were superb in both presentation and taste. The service was effortless and friendly. The restaurant is situated in an old very typical double story Victorian house. There is easy street parking and you...are a stone throw from the City Centre and right opposite the Carlton Gardens and the a Royal Exhibition Centre.More

Loved: Service Interior / premises Location Didn’t love: Sunday roast pork belly Carrot cake for dessert No a la carte on a Sunday Chairs (legs going numb after an hour) Jackson 5 playing as dining music ?! I was looking forward to dining here and...the service and ambience were great though I have no idea why the background music was Jackson 5. I suggest they change their music to more ambient, relaxed and less intrusive music. I was unaware we had a set Sunday roast without choice, and as a person who loathes fatty meat the pork belly was inedible. I literally tried to cut lean meat from the portion but found it pointless. My entire serve got left and none of the waiters commented that our meals had been only half eaten. Entrees were nice, and when dessert came out as boring old carrot cake I was pretty peeved. Not particularly tasty, and our table all left most of their dessert. By the glass wine choice was very limited to my taste but the waiters are well trained to match wines and he found one that was close to my taste. Service was faultless. I would try this place again for a la carte on a lunch or evening another time but would not recommend the Sunday roast if you want choice or don’t like fatty roasts. Not my favourite here in Melbourne. 7/10More

Had a really enjoyable night here, the ambience and service are both on point but at the same time very chill and relaxed. I really like what’s been done with the interiors and the food was amazing.
