Soak up waterfront views in style, perched on the edge of Ross Creek at A Touch of Salt restaurant, accessed from Ogden Street. A Touch of Salt has an area to suit many an occasion, whether meeting for casual coffee catch-ups under the verandah, holding lunchtime business meetings indoors or enjoying an ambient evening out on the deck, dining under the stars. A collection of ever-evolving menus are complemented by an impressively stocked wine cellar to suit dishes bursting with the flavours of seasonal ingredients, each artfully plated to please the eye.
We had a table outside with very pleasant surroundings and a relaxed feel. For entree I had scallops and my partner enjoyed perfectly cooked Japanese Pork Belly. For mains I had Duck and my partner had the hero dish, slow cooked Beef Ribs. For dessert...we shared a lovely Apple Pava with a crumble and ice cream. Because it was my partners birthday they had placed a candle on the dessert and written Happy Birthday. The timing was perfect as we were FaceTiming family so we all sung happy birthday together. We enjoyed some lovely wines. Gluten free options available. Staff very friendly and efficient, maybe a little over zealous at times. Highly recommend.More
We ordered Coral Trout and both served were dreadful. The fish was tough and curled up and really terrible.
We thought it was not Coral Trout.
It was over cooked to the max and a disgrace for any chef to send out
Definitely one of the best in Townsville. Quality service and food. The beef short ribs are soooo good. We have been to lot of Townsville restaurants and couldn’t find an issue with anything. Highly recommended and we’ll back!
Amazing meal. Ate here as it was recommended by friends and so glad we did dine here. Very good service with friendly staff. We had an amazing damper to start then prawn dumplings, scallops, prawn pasta and lamb - everything was delicious. Great drinks menu....So glad we ate here.More
29th wedding anniversary & wanted to fund The place in Townsville to celebrate. Found it!
Upon arrival we were a little daunted by the conference dinner being held inside, but we’d booked outside so not a concern. Upon arriving at our table - a romantic...table for 2, we were next to a table of a dozen or more or had no regard for space. We had some room between us & another table so picked up our table & moved. This seemed to give the group an even greater need to invade what space we’d made for ourselves. Fortunately the waitress saw our displeasure & we were able to move our table waayyy to the other side. Giving us front row seats to the garden & water - Thank You. After all that we settled in for a truely fantastic dinner. We enjoyed damper, goat cigars, scallops - OMG, wow, they were fantastic. Prawn dumplings & then the mains, wow, amazing dinner. From a bit of a dud start to one of the best meals we’ve ever had. Thank you so much. Please pls still be here when we’re next in Townsville.More
I’ve been to a lot of amazing places to eat around Australia and Japan and nothing detonated my food loving brain like their Goat Cheese Gnocchi. Service was professional and friendly, venue was lovely and perfect temp so big fat men like me didn’t sweat....They greeted us and wished us a happy anniversary which was a lovely touch. Must try the blueberry collins cocktail. 5/5More

Sorry but I am not part of the restaurant, I was merely a very happy customer.
But if you ring 4724 4441 I am sure they will be able to take the cake there yourself before you actually take your friend there.
Hope this helps.
