Just love this pub, the food, the atmosphere, and the choice of beers. Well worth a visit. Used to visit here whenever we visited with my departed wife. Brings back happy memories.

Returning 4 years later, decided to have a pizza from their range (and it was delicious) They also have Tooheys Old (a stout) in the fridge so a great companion drink. The back area of the pub on the street is quiet with lots of...seating - great pub for a traveler.More

This pub restaurant was so good we had to go twice! The pizzas alone are definitely worth the visit. We had four and every one was superb and slightly different from your average one. The views from the rooftop bar are worth the effort of...the climb up the stairs. A great meal not to mention the beer, wine and cider also availableMore

The Australian has a country pub feel in the middle of the city. The staff were welcoming and helpful. There is a roof top bar and outdoor seating. They are known for their pizzas and some have some very interesting toppings. It is definitely worth...popping in when in the area.More

Probably the worst Pizza I have ever had , seriously terrible , prosciutto special with invisible bocconcini and very little mozzarella, lot of rocket thought, and the cocktails were un drinkable , $19 each and left them on the table NEGRONI , plain terrible ,...the wine was nice because the hotel couldn’t change it luckily , overall not a pleasant experience although the staff were friendlyMore

Met up with a couple of friends on Tuesday evening for a drink. The main bar areas are wonderfully decorated with old fashioned feel. Typical and satisfying drinks menu- I had ginger beer on tap. There is a rooftop beer garden with a little view...of nearby Rocks. We ordered a crocodile pizza which was not cheap but was delicious and easily shareable. Appreciated the choice in music from the speakers on the roof. It was a wonderful summer night.More

This is reportedly the second oldest bar in Sydney, but is not so touristy. It has a decent selection of beers and jazz on a Sunday.

Once we actually got served at the bar, we couldn't fault the service - it was friendly and engaging. The trouble is that they seem not to take any notice of people waiting at the lower bar, so we stood there for some time waiting...until we moved to the other bar. There was no sign suggesting it was unattended. Food delivery was pretty snappy so no issue there. What I had read about this pub made it sound a little more historical and quirky than we felt when we visited, and the 'Coat of Arms' pizza didn't really impress other than in title and concept. It had kangaroo on one half and emu on the other half, but the meat was dry and identical in appearance and so other than being told which meat was on which side, there was no way of telling the meats apart….so we really don’t know if we were even eating emu!? The lemon myrtle mayo drowned out the flavours and on reflection many of the other pizzas on the menu sounded and looked better, so I guess was a pity we were drawn in by the gimmick. Oh well, the vibe amongst the clientele sitting outside in some beautiful weather still made for a happy enough visit to the Australian Heritage Hotel.More

The hotel is very well located and walking distance to the sky tower, the harbor and dozens of restaurants. The best thing about the hotel, which is in two buildings in an old department store, is the outdoor deck with a pool, spa and small...gym. It has a nice view of the city and the harbor and very comfortable chairs and couches as well as changing rooms and showers. We had a late flight back to the US and the hotel let us check out and then use the pool area and changing rooms before taking a shuttle to the airport. Our room was a large suite with a kitchen and a room divider between the two beds. Breakfast was included in our plan. While we paid a lot of money we met two Canadian couples who had booked units through AirBnB who had paid less than a quarter of what we paid.More

We ran in here after finishing the BridgeClimb around 9:30pm for a late dinner. The pizza was prepared quickly and was tasty. The menu looked great and made us wish we could try other items/go back!

I wanted to eat some unique food when I was in Sydney and whenever I mentioned that to anyone, they all mentioned the Australian Heritage Hotel Pub. The Hotel/Pub is located in The Rocks area of town. We got a bit turned around on how...to find it BUT we did! It is definitely a PUB so don’t think “restaurant” . It has a fun Pub vibe! There was outside seating, a bar and it was pleasantly casual. Like many places in Australia, you order at the bar, and they bring the food to you. The Pub boasts a unique menu featuring dishes like Kangaroo burgers, Crocodile Pizza, Pepper Kangaroo Pizza AND the Coat of Arms Pizza which is ½ Kangaroo and ½ Emu. I am happy that I tasted the Coat of Arms because I can say I did BUT all in all the pizza tasted like a frozen crust and my husband who just had a regular pizza said it was just OK. If you are in Sydney and you want to try some unique food, go to the Australian Heritage Hotel Pub, but know it is a Pub/Bar… that serves food.More

The pizza choice was what attracted us (emu, kangaroo etc) but the atmosphere was what charmed: a real sense of old Sydney (and where better than at the Rocks?), a phenomenal selection of beers and and good, rough-and-ready service. A great informal supper.
