From The reception to their food, service and general Hospitality it was all 10/10. Everything seemed personalized.its a humble outlet, family owned and although the place was fully booked and very busy they were efficient, consistent and the service was superb.would recommend this to anyone who appreciates a great dining experience.it is simple and real, there is no pretentious cover just food old food and service like It used to be. Very reasonably priced and each pizza is handmade by a pizza master as you can see via the open plan kitchen.down to Earth, flawless and incredibly humble! Loved this place!

A little out of the way and unassuming, this little restaurant can produces delicious and authentic pizzas. If you are used to the MSG packed pizza from the popular pizza chains nearby, I can only say to expect a more subtle, refined experience - this is not the place to come to for excessive toppings and over the top flavours. I Love it!

Great foodbut can improve

Best pizza in our area for sure no doubt about that. Always nice. Two things they can improve on is get card facility and get the aircon to work. Inside is very old with broken equipment standing and wires hanging down. Great for tske aways, not so grest for sit down. Still getting 4 stars because the readon i go is for the pizza and that is 5 stars.

Forneria Italia in Table View served me two of the worst pizzas I had ever come across, mostly just crust and rather stingy on the toppings. When I questioned the food I received, the owner had not a care in the world whatsoever, he just bluntly told me that this is the way they do it, did not care for anything I had to say. Honestly this service is unacceptable, client feedback is not important at this little "Italian" restaurant, shocking! I would not recommend Forneria Italia to anyone, save yourself the time and money wasted...

Terrible food

I ordered the spinach and feta ravioli with the chicken and mushroom sauce and my husband ordered a pizza. Both our meals were horrible! My ravioli was frozen and the spinach had a very old powder taste with no feta, it was dry and the sauce was oily. My husbands pizza was so soggy he had to eat it with a spoon! For an Italian restaurant? There was nothing authentic or great about it. Overpriced and lacks authenticity! The bathrooms are also absolutely disgusting.

Poor service and an owner that blatantly lies!

Having sat for an hour and 20 mins waiting for food, my partner and I were happily discussing life, the waiter came to us after an hour at 8.04pm to say the lasagne I ordered would take longer than the pizza due to temperatures in the oven etc etc and he was sorry for the delay but wanted to explain. The lasagne came at 8.15 with the pizza that was not as ordered! Having returned the pizza due to the mistske, the owner then blatantly lied to us saying our order was only placed at 8pm and "the computer does not lie" intimating that I was! How could the lasagne be ready at 8.15 if it took longer, 30 -40 mins? It had clearly been in the oven for at least half an hour if not longer even though he insisted we only ordered at 8pm. The owner is rude, obnoxious and lies and then makes out it is the customers fault as the 'computer doesn't lie', clearly this was a mix up between the kitchen and the person placing the order. Two tables arrived after us, ordered pizza and were served before us, incidently one of these orders was also incorrect and returned and the replacement still came out before ours! A simple apology and acknowledgment would have gone a long way. I left embarrassed, hungry and upset, the service and attitude of the grumpy owner really let's this place down. We have frequented the restaurant recently and the waiter clearly recognized and appreciated this but the surley owner is a liar and a disappointment!

Amazing food, a hidden gem

The top score by Google maps (restaurant score) in this small area with many other restaurants was the trigger: let's try! Dropping in yesterday evening we were not alone, and when the food arrived all of us smiled and became quiet. Very tasty and perfectly made lasagne for 5 of us, well made Carbonara for one, Spaghetti and pizza for some, and greek salad for one: everyone claiming this was the best meal so far after 2 weeks in S.Africa. Today three of us went back to test the specials of the house, schnitzel of T-bone steak served with vegetables, green salad, a fruity sauce with mushrooms.. And two other mains (fillet beef and lasagne). And same conclusion as yesterday: the top rating is well deserved - and what a pity the restaurant is hidden towards the back of a quiet street rather than up front where it is easier to find - or maybe this is by pure design to keep anyone else but food lovers away? I forgot we also had Capresa as starter: nicely made with mozzarella circled by slized tomatoes and fresh pesto-like sauce: delicious! We ended our meal with coffee and roiboos tea, and locally baked small chocolate "treats" which surprised us with spicy taste - what a pleasant suprise! If ever in doubt where to eat real quality food when visiting Table View area: just try this place, I will for sure come back!

Wow... Is all I can say... Pizza...amazing.. Pasta even more amazing.. Not many restaurants in area that perfect it as they do. Have visited here..5 times now and have had amazing food on all levels... Nice open atmosphere and can be romantic in the eve also...

The variety is amazing, its proper Italian Pizza and I am in love with this place. Lots of regulars which is so nice to see. Way better than your huge commercial restaurants and very cosy.

Cash only restaurant

It was an okay restaurant. The pizza wasn’t anything to rave about. I was irritated about there being no signs when you walk up that explains they are a cash only restaurant. I didn’t know this until I tried to pay for my meal. No where did I see a sign for this. It apparently was in the menu above the pictures. I did see the statement that says all changes are charged for below the menu items. Luckily, I had just enough to cover my meal but wasn’t planning on using cash. When I explained to the gentleman that they need more signage and make it bolder in the menu, he gave me a snide remark. Average restaurant at best but due to the issues, two stars from me.

Lovely and cosy

This is a lovely cosy no frills family business. We all had pizza - delicious thin crust with plenty of topping. Although the restaurant was quite full we received our food quickly. After that unfortunately service was non-existent. We eventually had to go looking for our waitress to bring the bill. This unfortunately spoilt what should have been a pleasant experience.

Amazing authentic Italia food

Delicious pizza and pasta, made by real Italians in a very simple setting. A dd to this a glass of their house wine and the great Melkbos locals and it makes for a wonderful evening.
