We had the Pork Belly and Beef ribs as recommended by the very friendly and helpful waiter and it was delicious!
In other news, they are doing their very best despite Corona conditions - like sanitizing everything, ensuring a good distance between customers and following department of health protocols such as every customer writing their details down afterwards.
The chef also came and thanked each table afterwards. It was a great experience. Would highly recommend.

World class food, elegantly presented. The service was friendly and efficient. The experience was just as good as we remembered it to have been. We rated it better than many of the fine dining restaurants in London and the value for money is excellent.

My wife and I decided to try Muse for lunch and ended up ordering lamb curry.
The taste of this dish was super but unfortunately a very disappointing serving size. Very little lamb in the dish, no rice and two pieces of naan bread. This dish is hopelessly under served and a rip off at R140 per serving. What a shame.

Another stunning evening at the Muse which also impressed guests from JHB and Cape Town. The food was stunning - both taste and presentation, the service was excellent - Pippa, our waitress was engaged with the table despite it ring a busy evening and really made everyone feel special. Overall experience is a great and a great place for that something extra.

We walked in on a Tuesday for lunch - no booking required but it s generally busy at night we are reliably informed. We can now understand why. The food was really something to write home about. Wonderful flavours and presentation. Excellent wine list. Recommended without hesitation

Unpretentious street cafe appearance, discreetly covers cooking & culinary perfection in the unlikeliest of places, Richmond Hill,Gqeberha .
From high quality cocktails (méthode champenoise), starters to my seasonal light main course lamb wrap,,flavours are balanced masterfully; tender meat cooked to perfection, and even the plate presentation delicious balsamic to dip the oil free organic potato wedges in. Not just pretty, every morsel wickedly delicious. My friend's lamb curry with brazilian black rice, subtly nutty and milky, perfection.
Fine arts manageress and playwright Pippa playfully guided my palate through each course to an extraordinary conclusion in rose water flavoured, hand made ice cream and deep fried turkish delight. translucent stars of rose water, theatrically presented with the scent of fresh rose water on dry ice, bring himalayan perfection to mind. The 15C winter afternoon blossomed into delight alongside sips of real creme, irish coffee.
who are the young couple, the owner chef stars who create this changing menu, how do they surround themselves with down to earth staff so nuanced, delightful, expert and tactfully, low key?
It's world quality ingredients, perfectly prepared fresh to the tables of often romantic, young couples of all races; not cheap, nor over the top.
As a "simple" eater with distaste for over elaboration, Muse is simply a taste cornucopia not to be missed.
Try it, book it and be seduced by sensual delight.

We booked for and arrived on a Saturday at 19h15 to celebrate a birthday. We chose the dishes we wanted from the menu and were informed that both our choices were sold out. We then had to settle for a more expensive second choice. It was good but not what we had wanted.

We went for early dinner, but even without experiencing the softness of the lights and candles and the buzz of a full restaurant the experience was still amazing.
The service is exceptional and the waiter's knowledge of the menu and wine list is to be applauded.
The presentation and the flavours of the food is out of this world and definately without comparison in the Eastern Cape.
If I need to describe my experience in one word it will definately be "complete".
Well done Muse and know you are a beacon of hope in a mostly bland industry.

Best experience in a long time. I was impressed when they returned my call to capture my reservation (I had phoned during closed hours). Then I was mightily impressed by the two gentlemen running the front of house like champions. And lastly I was impressed and surprised by the quality of food presented by chef Allan Bezuidenhout. Both the wine list and menu are relatively short (menu= 2 pages) but more than adequate and with ample choices.
We ordered duck samosas and mussel tortellini as starters. These were tasty and beautifully presented - where we normally share in order to have a taste of as many courses as possible, neither of us wanted to share our dishes!! Were the mussel tortellini available as a mains I would immediately have changed my order. For mains we ordered butter chicken curry with black rice (and the dish was wonderfully spicy but not overwhelmingly hot) and lamb rump with spinach and pea puree and roasted potatoes. The lamb was tender and pink and I would have loved even more of the puree. Deserts apparently are the creations of Simone Bezuidenhout and adds a positive end to a very good meal. A bad desert can easily spoil a good meal. Next time we will ask to start with desert!
Well done to the 2x Bezuidenhout chefs and their team.
If you do have the chance to go and can get a reservation ( the restaurant was full on a Wednesday evening) then I can gladly recommend Muse for a wonderful evening and meal. I have rarely given out five stars ever, and mostly to establishments with at least some Michelin stars, but Muse deserves them all.

Wow wow wow! I've heard and read a lot about this restaurant but it exceeded my expectations in every way imaginable. From start to finish every bit as close to perfection as possible. Exceptional meals to choose from, amazing wine list and to top it all off, phenomenal service! Although we are in the midst of a pandemic, the staff kindly informed us of the new covid regulations and how it effected their trading hours (kitchen closes earlier) and urged us to place our orders as quickly as possible so we could relax the rest of the evening, and yet, even under the increased pressure they didn't fail to impress. Exquisite tastes and beautiful presentation from all the dishes and we recieved the food faster than anticipated. All in all we could not have been happier with the experience. Dee, our waiter was incredibly well informed on all the dishes and even the wines! Funny and professional. A must visit if in tow n! 10/10 well done Allan and your team

Wonderful and fun meal at this family-run place. The dishes were presented superbly with real care and flair, but tasted even better.
The beef tartare and rack of lamb were the best dishes we had all trip, the wine list was exceptional and varied. The team friendly and excellent knowledge of their menu - the recommendations were spot on.

Our second visit to this restaurant (separated by a year). The food was delicious and the service friendly and good. The duck confit and smoked pork bellywere outstanding.
As before, the owner/chef came to meet us at the end of our meal, a nice touch. We were able to tell him that, once again, we had really enjoyed our meal, but wished that there were some sound attenuation as the restaurant is very noisy. This is the reason for 4 stars, not 5.

Wow! Lamb shank, lamb rump, beef fillet and pork belly all so incredibly delicious playing to all the senses: beautiful visual presentation combining not only tastes and flavors, but smells that enhance the experience. And very very reasonably priced with friendly wait staff. Highly recommend for a lockdown treat!

My second visit to Muse was every bit as enjoyable as my first visit three years ago. The restaurant promotes its menu as comfort food presented with a modern twist. My family and friends all enjoyed our meals from appetizers, to main courses, and finished off with fantastic desserts. The restaurant is quaint and comfortable, nothing pretentious, rather a focus on outstanding food and service. A truly outstanding restaurant offering fine dining at a reasonable prices.
