We have our boat for the summer season on a slip at Marina Gélinas located just around the corner (Great family run private marina for the boat). We stop in before heading back to Montreal for a nice cold beer and some good food. A...bit of a wait should you wish to sit on the terrace, popular place on the weekend. Located a short distance to the National Park as well.More

First restaurant we tried in grand mère after a two hour drive! We ordered fried calamari and burgers! The food is greasy but it is junk food so it’s ok ! There is seating outside but we sat inside! The waitress was accommodating and service...was good!More

We have been there a group of 7 for lunch, after looking around for a while and only finding frites-restaurants. Despite the long time it took them to make the food (~30min!) the place is very cozy and drinks are cheap compared to normal Canadian...restaurants. The food was according to the price, but pretty fine enough to keep our trip ongoing. If you are in the zone and need to eat sthg, this may be a good choice.More

I found this from Tripadvisor which is closed to the hotel we stayed in town. It's about 20-minute from the entrance of the national park. We went there for dinner and their patio was already full. We sit inside and the decro is very local....We ordered fish dish, pizza, and burger. They tasted so good and the waitress was very nice. Just be patient for the order.More

This is a small place that's often full of people coming off their snowmobiles. We were there on a quiet afternoon, and had poutine and smoked meat sandwiches. The meat was sliced very thin and had great flavor. We should have ordered the small size...of the poutine, as they give you a lot. The service was great, and the prices were reasonable. I recommend it if you're in the neighborhood!More

If you visit Parc national de la Mauricie, I would recommend that you can drop by this bistro in a small town. Their menu mainly includes sandwich, hamburger, poutine & pizza. As a poutine lover, I tried their special: Poutine Buffalo, which is very different...with traditional ones. But I have to admit that it's a failed experience. The buffalo source is so strong as to covers totally the flavour of tasty gravy. However, The price is really amazing! We only paid $56+tip for 4 people.More

We drove past this roadside bistro on our way to a campground at Parc National de la Maurice. All the tables on their porch seemed busy so we decided to give it a try for an early lunch before noon the next day. There were...a few other families on the porch so we decided to be seated there. As is common in Quebec the menu was in French only so we struggled a bit but the waitress was helpful. We apparently arrived too early for the lunch menu so we decided to have brunch - my wife had the thinly sliced salmon with capers and cream cheese on a bagel which she enjoyed very much. Our food was well prepared, fairly priced and we enjoyed a quiet morning on the porch. Because of the closeness of the road, I suspect it could get pretty noisy during peak traffic times but for us, this turned out fine.More

While staying in Parc national de la Mauricie in Quebec north of Trois Rivieries we went into have dinner at Bistro Le P'tit Canot. The first evening we sat out on the front porch and enjoyed what I would call French country fare. As the...sun set the mosquitoes arrived and decided we would be their dinner. I wished we'd brought some repellent but hadn't expected them as it was August. On our second visit we chose to sit inside. On both visits our servers was happy to accept our very basic attempts to order in French including being patient with the children. Even though it was busy both nights our food was served within a reasonable time and was fresh and tasty. The desserts were yummy too.More

Lovely local restaurant, with plenty of choice (including for vegetarians). Friendly service and very affordable prices!

Probably the worst place we visited on our trip to québec. Waitress wad super rude and didn't want to serve us while the other one was playing on her phone. From looking at the plates food looks poor too. Do yourself a favour and drive...couple minutes more to centre of ShawiniganMore
