C-Bali Restaurant & Beach bar is a stylish restaurant located on St. Michael's Beach. It is a comfortable place with a beautiful beachfront view and fantastic people. The cozy bar is a great spot for cocktails and we’ve got a great selection of craft beer. We offer a wide variety of dishes including authentic Thai dishes, fresh seafood, sushi, steaks, light meals and mush more. The menu includes our famous Flying Dutchman Potjie, a medley of seafood in a creamy garlic and parsley sauce served in a truly South African way. We cater for special events, staff parties, birthday parties etc. Enjoy our delicious Bali inspired meals just a few steps from the ocean. C-Bali the place to be!

Great food, Great Drinks, Great View!

During our 10 days in Shelly Beach we visited most bars/restaurants in the area and C-Bali is by far the best. We returned most days, whether it was for breakfast, lunch, dinner or even just drinks...and we were never disappointed. Staff are very friendly and any recommendations from them that we tried - we loved! The Food is of great quality - I recommend the spring rolls(any of the fillings) and the steak. They have a great gin bar with a large selection(staff are great at recommending these to your taste) and they also have a number of craft beers which are great. The restaurant is situated right on the Beach so has brilliant views of the beach/ocean from all tables. Highly recommend if your staying in or passing through Shelly beach

Great sea view while having a drink or bite

What a view and atmosphere. Chilled and relaxing. Great menu, great service. Wide variety of craft gin, craft beer, food, etc. Can get quite expensive depending on what you order, but the variety makes it worth while.

Great beach restaurant

This was a great stop for a branch, couldn't believe how busy it was at 12pm but after the service & food I realized why.. Oysters were so good we didn't have elsewhere incase they dispointed those ones.. Sushi fresh & delicious, had a strong wasbi one & I mean strong made your nostrils feel like you were once a little dragon but will definitely have it again, yum! Hake & calamari was all you could really hope for in seafood.. Cocktails were great, beer was ice cold and tequila let the weekend begin.. Nice setting with the ocean air, pity they built the car park infront of the restaurant and not behind it. Looking for a good spot for lunch, this is it!

Worst service ever

We entered the restaurant/cafe from the western side and easily found a table overlooking the sea. Nice view. However to get the attention of staff was a nightmare. Not as if the place was overflowing or very busy as we and others easily found tables. The staff were judiciously avoiding eye contact. When after some 20 minutes a waitress considered coming to our table, the requested menu took another 8 minutes to come and in the next 15 minutes she still did not return. We left after 40 fruitless minutes waiting.

Terrible service.

Terrible service from the Sushi bar. We arrived at 6:30 to have dinner, we placed our order as quick as possible keeping in mind we come often and knew it would be busy considering the half price sushi. The restaurant was full. We were told it would be an hour wait, which we were happy with, but over 2hrs had passed and we kept getting told another 40mins. From our table number 38, i could see into the managers office, she was sitting calmly puffing her vape as if service was going smoothly, which it definitely wasn't. We could see other tables around us were becoming just as impatient. Eventually i got up and asked to speak to the manager, her excuse was she didn't expect such a busy night. She was ill-prepared, unable to manage her staff, and unable to deal with unhappy customers. We eventually got our food after 3hours- at 9:30pm. The tables around us were making jokes when we finally saw any hope of sushi coming our way hoping they would recieve theirs soon. When our sushi came the rice was warm meaning they ran out of rice mid-service and had to make more explaining our wait. On departure the manageress gave us a voucher for our next visit, which left us leaving unsure as to how she would expect us to support this local business again. My advice would be to limit tables on special nights, so the customers you have actually all leave with a good experience, wanting to come again. Goodluck.

Good food experience

First time I went to C-bali was just looking for a drink and relax, Got amazed by the variaty of Gin and tonic offers, so as the presentation. I remember I had 5 different types. Never wrote a review because had a lot on my plate. The only turn off part was the huge waiting time while the drinks were laying by the bar. Went recently again,and the food was just amazing I had some fish with prawns and my husband surf and turf, Both well presented and with such of an amazing taste. The drinks, the gin didn't disappointed me, neither the amazing malva pudding for the dessert. The main reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 it's because of the customer service, a bit non existent, We had to go after the waitress to place orders and the waiting time was a way too much. Meanwhile while we were eating they were coming all the time asking if the table was ready to clean, just because I am not eating, if I still have food on my plate and open cutlery I should be in peace till I finish, but this didn't bother us, just the long waiting time. Very good place, well located, by the sea,amazing vibe and an amazing menu.

I'm allergic to Shellfish so I can't eat prawns or lobster or crab ect. I ordered a schnitzel and thought it would be fine. The waiter informed me that they fry all their food in the same oil. Making all the food that goes in with the oil, toxic to me. Even chips that are fried in the same oil can make me have an allergic episode. Frying all your food in the same oil ( Fish, crab prawns, chicken and chips) is HIGLEY ILLEGAL. The waiter saved my life by telling me. Won't ever come back here. This place is definitely not allergy friendly.

Another super meal and cocktails

Another super meal and cocktails at this wonderful seafront location! Always a favourite after a dive for brunch or lunch but with the new gin / cocktail menu it’s tough to go anywhere else for drinks now. Such wonderful choices and prepared by a couple of super talented baristas I can barely decide which to choose first. (Yes there is a bit of a wait in busy periods but these drinks are all prepared from scratch using fresh ingredients so as a gin connoisseur the effort is definitely appreciated). Managers and team you’ve done a cracking job keep it up 👍🏼 😎🍾🥂

We're close to the sea

Went with friends, had sushi platters and a squid, calamari deep-fried starter. The sushi was TASTY AF. I wouldnt say it is a complaint but my table had pointed out on how large the pieces of sushi were ( now for me, pffft the bigger the more sushi) but it was where they wanted to have more but didnt want to struggle with the large pieces. Other than that, I smashed my sushi and it was super fresh. Services was good. WIll be back very soon. I've heard great things about other food items. Cya soon C-Bali.

More then just the beach

We are yet to have a bad experience at C-Bali and everyone we have taken there enjoy it and return. It is also dog friendly and they are even putting together a doggie menu ! The outside area has covering and tables in the sun with the ocean breeze and smell and the inside or more sit-down section is relaxing yet formal enough to be able to do business or a romantic meal. The menu is great as well with a nice variety and some of the best sushi on the south coast It is a great vibe and relaxed atmosphere and for any occasion ! If you are visiting or live on the south coast its a must visit or else you are just selling yourself short !

Had lunch with my in-laws at CBali What a fantastic experience. Shout out to our hostess "Precious". Made every effort to ensure the meal and experience was amazing. Doted on the older folk and made them appreciated. The chef is a Calamari Wizard, I have never had such tender calamari. Lastly - the mixologist - not even a rock shandy escaped his artistry. My Zulu Muti will not be forgotten. Well done to all at CBali. I Will be back !!!!

Nice place but don't order the sushi

This review is purely about the sushi. After making a booking for valentines a week prior, no booking found when we arrived. Took a while to get served. Ordered a salmon and prawn nigiri followed by a california roll and rock&roll. Not sure what rice was use , may well have been a day old but it was stodgy and a lot used. Sushi should melt in the mouth but I had to almost chew through the rice. Ended up removing most of the rice. Before the other course arrived I did make a critic to the waiter but was promised the california and rock would be amazing. Unfortunately the same experience and only ened up eating one piece of each out of 16 pieces. Now it may well be the case this type of sushi is accepted and done like this is south africa and it may well be the case that living in Seychelles I am spoilt with high quality sushi. Really disappointed, not even one item offered to be removed from the bill or an apology. Wont make the mistake again of going back.

I just want to say... Thank you!

I just want to say...Keep it like this! I was here in November 2015, for three or four times, being accommodated in Margate, in October 2019 and now, November 2020, again. Never disappointed! The food is fresh and delicious and the service is great. Just add a nice view of the ocean and you can have an image. As I’m not local citizen I don’t know if I’ll be back, but I’ll keep in my heart this place. Thank you!

A good family dinner!

We were a large party of 9. We pre-booked and everything went well. Attentive service - a good selection of menu items and delicious food. We were seated inside - lighting was very bright, area pretty utilitarian.

Most Beautiful Cocktails

We loved it so much at C-Bali we went for lunch one day and then dinner another day. Their Cocktails are so beautiful, you are too sad to drink them and disturb the beauty. Oysters were good, sushi was incredible and Burgers were amazing. My Husband loved the seafood potjie
