I visited this place so many times and the staff were always very friendly, I don’t know what happened to this place but it seems they changed their staff and brought in some not really “excited about their job” staff.
The food quality and taste is still the same though .

The manager on duty was short and unfriendly. Whilst I waited for my order she was busy with PAPERWORK in the foodcourt (extremely unprofessional), not attending to customers. My food was left to get cold, and no-one informed me that it was ready. :/

We have had Simply Asia at another location and were very happy with the dishes. This time the food was ho hum. Nothing spectacular. Think we'll go again, but choose different dishes perhaps. The Curry Fried Rice is okay. Honey Chicken bland.

Waited an hour for sushi
Was told it was because of the half price offer.
They had 4 diners in the restaurant and one lonely sushi chef
If you are happy to waste your time waiting then definitely visit this branch.
Otherwise steer clear.
Reading some of the other reviews it seems to be the norm here.
Would give it zero stars if I could.

The absolute worst service. Ordered from a delivery app & the food took over 90 minutes to get to me. I enquired with the driver and was told that he was scolded when asking about the order. I tried calling the restaurant directly to no answer. What a waste of time! If you’ve reached capacity pause delivery orders!

Waited 90 minutes for food delivery - and we are 1km away. Was def the restaurant and not the driver as they are tracked on their app. Ridiculous amount of time to wait.

As regular visitors to Simply Asia Cavendish we walked out tonight after 45minute wait with no food. Understaffed and take away orders streaming in to the detriment of seated guests - very frustrated - our usual spot to eat before movies has been tarnished.

Sure this is part of a food court in a shopping mall but food is great. New menu and choice of how spicy you want your food. Service quick but no frills.

Consistent for years, this chain does good quality food quickly and reasonably priced too. Pop in for a light snack of a full meal, there's something for everyone.

Strike one. A hair in our food.
Strike two. Bringing incorrect orders and then arguing with us and only conceding when we showed them that THAT IS IN FACT WHAT IS STATED ON THEIR OWN MENU!
Strike three. Our food gets taken to the wrong table, a child picks up touches our noodles and the waitress proceeds bring it to our table! Had my husband not seen the child touching our food, we would have eaten it! The waitress then sighs and says "we'll make u a new one" and no-one apologises!
Disgusting. Simply Asia must realise that capetonians have standards whereas apparently, they don't!

Popped in for lunch and enjoyed an excellent Chinese meal. The individual flavours of the various dishes were subtle, and the accompanying noodles delicately palatable. A short but reasonable Wine List ensured that the meal was complemented nicely. The service was friendly and professional. We noticed that various other patrons were clearly regular diners there which is a good advert for the restaurant.

Simply Asia used to have nice food but standards have slipped.
We had take out and the chicken satay was flame torched (though the peanut and ginger dip excellent) and the rest of the food taste sub mediocre.even with lots of sauce.
Delivery by Uber Eats within a reasonable time.
Will not order from here again.

I am not sure what has changed though I will try to describe my last experience as follows. The waiters seemed completely inexperienced and poor by any standard. The manager was trying to cover for all three waiters by bringing meals to the tables and covering for ht waiters when they were clearly lost and trying to look busy. The food was the worst ever. The kitchen looked very disorganised. At one stage I counted 1 manager, 2 waiters and three cook hands in the kitchen along with the chef. The kitchen is tiny so what were they all doing there? My food was really poor and the same for my guest who even complained to the waiter who pretended to ignore her comments. After 3 atempts I got the manage to send my bill to the table. After both the manager and the waiter had been to the table we left the place with our half empty plates still on the table about 10 minutes after we put down our cutlery. Unbelievable.

I've been to the Claremont Simply Asia for many years now but today was something not experienced before.
Let me first say that the food is still as good as always.
However the place is let down badly by the service.
Our waitress was slow and we had to repeat our order several times. Whilst sitting there we also heard very loud voices and shouting come from the back. Sounded like a fight going on in the kitchen area. And it just got louder and louder. We were told it's the staff leaving. Unacceptable to make that amount of noise in a restaurant. Didn't seem like the manager cared.
We waited very long for drinks order to be taken. Waited long for starters and waited long for main meals as well. Food for table didn't even come out all at once. So some started eating before others.
Really need to sort out that service. Play it safe and order a takeaway.
