We visited for our regular get together with friends. Pub Quz put on by landlord is brilliant. Great night, staff are lovely and landlord has made this pub a great place to visit again . Long make it last
New gaffer Ian has really made a difference to go over and above to offer a great customer experience.
Standard pub grub, but good.
Family and dog friendly. A real community boozer.
Give Ian your support- he’s worth it!
Cheers Ian- mini is still going...strong ;-)More
Awful food, cold, badly cooked with rock hard burger bun and soggy pasty on pies. Yeuk. We all left food on our plates never to return. Person behind bar apologising for how terrible they know the place is.
Visited the pub the first week the pubs opened up after lockdown. Although the pub was busy (to be expected on a Sunny Saturday afternoon) the staff worked hard non-stop to ensure good service and were polite and friendly.
Felt comfortable outside with the amount...of open space the pub has and how the staff have gone to the effort to make sure tables are spaced apart to ensure social distancing. When using the toilet there's plenty of hand soap and a sanitiser fixed onto the wall next to the door. Plus the track and trace is easy to find and register on.
My friends and I enjoyed the visit that much, I decided to go again a week later with my dad.
If I were to pick fault it would be with Marston's Brewery not developing an app for this pub (if not all their pubs). I feel it would make the lives of all the staff much easier when delivering drinks and taking paymentsMore
Visited at the weekend with a bunch of friends, and super impressed by all the measures put in place. All staff wearing masks, hand sanitiser on all entries to go to the toilets, quick service (especially as it’s outside online). Proper pub food to a...great quality, and good choice of drinks. Felt comforMore
Visited The King's head yesterday and today. So impressed with the socially distant tables. Hand sanitiser by the doors, staff all wearing masks, also track and tracing every customer. I felt extremely safe in the new environment we are now living in. Staff very busy...but handled this extremely well, so just a couple of minutes wait for drinks due to outside table service, which is no problem at all. Staff masked and extremely helpful and polite. Can't wait to visit again, highly recommended to all age people and family friendly.More
I am appalled at the service, food hygiene and lack of covid restrictions at this pub!
Everything started off well, and then we asked the waitress for another round of drinks, one person said what drink they would like and the waitress turned around and...walked away leaving the rest of us still waiting to order. When she came back with the drink we ordered the rest of the tables drinks and some food.
We then waited 20 mins for those drinks and when they still didn’t arrive we asked where they were only to be given a snappy and rude response that they thought we had left. (We had paid for the food and drinks why would we have left?)
They then brought the drinks out, not telling us which were which (they had ran out of branded glasses so they were all in the same glass meaning we had no clue what they were)
The bar caddy with the cutlery and sauces was picked up from another table and then put on ours, no sanitisation!
When the food came out my burger was raw and being 6 months pregnant I asked the waitress to take it back as I couldn’t eat it, she then brought me the same burger back a couple of minutes later just with more cheese on (I had taken a bite from the burger originally so it was obvious it was the same burger!) this is food hygiene 101 you never give a customer the same food back!
They then came to us and told us that when we paid for the food they hadn’t put the drinks on the tab and so we had to pay again!More
