We had the 3 course menu and allowed them to make recommendations. The focaccia bread and olive oil was just to die for. The menu was incredible and well balanced. The rabbit gnocchi was my favorite but it had everything for everyone’s palate. Staff were attentive but not overbearing. Wine recommendation was spot on. It wasn’t cheap but worth it.

We celebrated my birthday at il barcaiolo last night. It was a wonderful evening with the best food and excellent wines.
The service was simply outstanding.
Price performance is absolutely fitting.

We booked a table for 2 people by phone for a special weekend evening at 8.30pm. The Booking Referral worked perfectly. We were welcomed friendly with valet parking. Since we were 15 minutes ahead of time and our table was not ready yet, we communicated the waiting time in the foyer to spend a drink. We would be fetched..it said. Said, done. At 8.40 p.m. we made our way back to the restaurant. There we were with a quite unconfused tone: We were already looking for you! received. Well...the foyer isn't really big. We were placed in the right side wing of the restaurant where only 2 of many empty tables were occupied. We were placed at the smallest table of two next to the Berkel machine. The bench was well seated/sitting and the table wobbled. We made the service aware of this; when one actually tried to use jolting and intending to use backing material to remedy it, we asked for another table. We received it, too.
We ordered 2 very delicious apperitife. The greeting from the kitchen was wonderful: a piece of Italian salami with black olives, velvety fruity olive oil, salt and fluffy foccacia and grissinistangen served on a wooden board with matching knife with charming explanation by the service staff. The appetizers were just as perfect and lovingly arranged: once Vitello and once Scallops on pea. The main course was entrecote with chanterelles. Unfortunately, at least my piece of meat, was no entrecote and also not medium-rare: neither tender, nor juicy; the meat very firm and well-done. Slanted cut into tranches, the plate swam with meat juice while serving. Too bad. Taste really good with the rocket and the chanterelles; my husband's piece was as ordered.
Unfortunately, we had to go to the cash desk of the restaurant ourselves, because we were simply forgotten after the dump. Also, the bar drinks had not been forwarded to the restaurant as communicated at the bar at the beginning, so the invoice was of course incorrect. My husband brought this to the attention of the service. After a waiting time of about 10 minutes at the desk, the two drinks could also be added to the bill and settled.
We really enjoyed the drinks and service in the foyer and foodservice; the mini-table with wiggle effect, the quality of my Entrecotes and the invoice handling were failure.
We know the hotel from previous nights and would tend to Egerner Bay again the next time we visit.

This is a wonderful restaurant in every respect. The service is discrete, but attentive, and the food is just amazing. I do not get an opportunity to have Dover sole very often, but it was so exceptional I had to have it two nights later. My wife enjoyed the gnocchi and the minestrone was a delight.
The prices were very modest--it is real value.

The vegetable soup was very fresh and wonderful. The risotto with lemon and asparagus was to die for. The Bronzino cooked perfectly. The veal filet just wonderful. Great wine list. Service was excellent. I would have given a 5 star except the olive oil served was not up to the quality of the restaurant. The oil was in a clear bottle which is not good and had to be more than a year old as the oil was tired or not stored properly.

Wonderful Italian restaurant with highly professional and friendly service. This is certainly not the normal Trattoria-style restaurant, but a genuinely high end Italian restaurant that would justifyly be awarded a One-Star Michelin rating. The portions are generous and perfectly executed.

The best restaurant in this hotel, of course excluding the gourmet restaurant Ăśberfahrt. Light Italian dishes in a causal atmosphere. Also possible with kids. The rating is due to the high prices in this restaurant. If the prices would be a bit more moderate it would be top.
