Very good food, I like to eat here and have never been disappointed. The quality is very good, which is evident from the full dining room, even during the week you should make a reservation. Service is friendly. The restaurant is rustic, decorated in Bavarian style, very cozy. However, some of the tables are very close together, so you can hardly have a private conversation without the people at the next table hearing everything.

Great service, very good food and drink, mega cozy. We were with a really big group at dinner, we all liked it very much. Think that the concept of Markus Leitner and his family is really super well received

We sat outside to have dinner here. The service was excellent and our food ( 2 variations on schnitzel) was very good indeed. Would recommend.

Unfriendly people are not allowed

We actually just wanted something to eat before we started our journey home... until we encountered the most unfriendly conditions I have ever seen... before we got the memory card we were snapped at and asked why we just sat down in a seat and whether we could not read, there were signs everywhere saying that the staff would assign you a seat... it was just stupid that the signs were folded up and leaned against a wall and the guest could not read them. There was also a sign on the entrance door saying that unsupervised children would receive 1 liter of Coke, 8 scoops of ice cream and a puppy. You could actually just write on it that children are not welcome. All in all I was very shocked at how you are treated as a paying guest there. It's a shame.

Good setting but mediocre food

Beautiful inside and outside and most staff are very friendly. However, there are one or two waiters who are very grumpy. The food is ok but not very lovingly presented. A typical Bavarian Wiener Schnitzel is a dry Schnitzel with fries on a plate. No lemon, cranberry sauce and we even had to ask for a bit of ketchup which was brought to us halfway through a very dry Schnitzel meal. So, if you are not fussy about the quality of food this is a nice place to sit and soak up Bavarian atmosphere.

Caution: Bad service and average food quality

Terrible - unfortunately a total disaster! I was a guest with my wife and parents-in-law on a family trip and was very disappointed! Very unfriendly, overwhelmed staff, coupled with average food quality and small portion sizes. On top of that, the dishes were served to my wife and me earlier than to my parents-in-law (even though all four of us had ordered the same dish :-)). We had communicated this to the service staff, but were ignored. After waiting for three quarters of an hour, I proactively complained to the kitchen. The food did arrive within five minutes, but it was ice cold. My wife and I were incredibly embarrassed to subject our companions to this. The restaurant did not apologize or compensate us. I like to "eat out" almost several times a week across Germany for business and private reasons, but I have never experienced anything like this before. A sad experience! We always love the beautiful Schliersee, but we will give this restaurant a wide berth in the future and eat somewhere else.

After a lunch that wasn't to heavy, shared a couple of local dishes that were tasty and different, had a dish of cottage cheese and farmer bread and a shaved white sausage and pickles that wee washed down nicely with a Weiss beer in the sun on the raised verandah area

While staying in the hotel we had 2 meals in the restaurant. I really enjoyed a fish dish, chestnut soup and salads. The food was tasty, the service was good, and the atmosphere was good.

The house is very nice from the outside, but definitely needs renovating and updating inside. Whilst the food is average, the service is very poor, unfriendly and unattentive. They have two menus, one is titled "Local and Seasonal Specialities", and includes "Matjes" (pickled herring) as well as Thai Curry - so I wondered whether the Schliersee had a serious ecological problem and whether Thailand was part of Upper Bavaria.The other menu offers the typical Bavarian fare at reasonable prices. The waiter does not ask how you would like your meat to be cooked but graciously accepts your order; however, all our meat were at least one notch more cooked than ordered, and the waiters were not interested in our comments. The wine list is rather short and offers only the ubiquituous choice. There are much better and most importantly friendlier restaurants in Schliersee.
