Awesome venue, well plated food and a well spoken waiter do not make up for an unsafe enviroment. No Covid protocols, na mask by staff. Kitchen staff licking their fingers while plating customers food. Staff hugging each other with no mask or sanitiser nearby. Food...was decent, but i felt so unsafe to eat anything that everything was spoilt.More

I ordered a simple hake and fish dish. The cumed hake was soggy and disgusting. The chips were oily and cooked in what appeared to be old oil. They were dark yellow and brown. I'm not sure how the dish made it out the kitchen,...nevermind onto our table.More

Horrendous! Eisbein was raw. Changed to lamb curry which looked like it had come out of a tin. Very watery curry gravy with it. Prawns and calamari - the calamari was flavourless no seasoning whatsoever. The prawns were just overdone so slightly mushy. Asked for...chips which never came had to go and find someone to bring them halfway through the course. They were overcooked and cooked in old oil. If you sit out on the veranda area you are forgotten about service very poor. A wedding was on so service exceptionally slow clearly cannot cope when an event is on. Only highlight was the prawn pot and the wine. A waste of your hard earned money eating there as they are pricey.More

This used to be one of our favorite haunts always good food and atmosphere. On Saturday we decided to do a lunch and sadly instead of stepping up their game after another lockdown, it has gone rather badly south. We ordered 4 milkshakes first up...and while waiting noticed how empty the restaurant was. The waitron then came back to say we must have something else as there was no ice cream to make milkshakes. We ordered 2 Brie burgers and 2 Chicken snitzels with cheese sauce. Well eventually only 3 plates of food arrived instead of 4 ( we were the only table eating by then ). After about 5 minutes and only when I complained did the other plate arrive. My burger patty had bits of hard gristle in and the cheese sauce was so watery and bland , it was definitely out of a packet or powdered. There was very little in the form of apologies and very little attention given to our table. So sad for the amazing setting and what it used to be. I will rather spend my time and money elsewhere in futureMore

We went there during the week to try something different and weren't disappointed. The staff were friendly and efficient whilst serving us. There has recently been a change of chef and were were most impressed by the portions of our food which were extremely flavoursome.

Where do you go when you want to include the whole family from toddler who cannot sit for more than 7 minutes at a stretch ... but you want to honour tired parents who deserve to have a decent trendy meal... and Grandma really wants...to relax & have a nice view of greenery or water... and you, the host, want to provide plenty of selection to span the gambit from 18 month pasta/rice through to Granny’s tender tummy. Highly recommend “Cotswold Downs Kitchen”. You can go as early as 17:00 to 17:30 so the toddler can have their bath & Grannie can watch her shows.More

My daughter and I had a lovely light lunch at The Kitchen, Cotswold Downs Estate in Hillcrest. The setting overlooking the golf course is amazing. The restaurant is vast yet cosy. I really enjoyed my generous and delicious Crispy Calamari Salad snd my daughter had...the Vegetarian Butternut Pizza. Our waitress was charming and helpful too. Now that we have family staying in the Cotswolds, we look forward to many more wonderful meals here.More

Made a reservation. Were warmly welcomed...was rather a late lunch but that was not a problem. Ordered our drinks. The food came thru pipping hit as we would enjoy it. The fish & chips were as we enjoy it. Daughter pizza was excellent. The ambience...and views are soothing to the soul. One can sit uninterrupted enjoying the views. Therapy for the soul.More

The Kitchen is a stunning venue, the staff are very accommodating and the food is always excellent. The prawn and Calamari combo is brilliant. Wine selection is good. Restuarant can be a little noisy sometimes with little children running around opening and closing doors. If...you are not child friendly.....maybe give it a miss. Toilets can sometimes be a little messy.More
