This has become my go-to when in the Elgin Valley. If you are looking for a terrific breakfast/brunch/lunch spot en route to your destination or to line your bellies before hitting the wine farms in the area, this is the place. With wholesome, delicious food and smoothies to match. Cath Boome, her owner, is attentative and friendly and drops in on tables to see how everyone is doing, so special to have the owner in the establishment rather than a manager. Bookings have become rather essential, as this fabulous little space has found itself on the map of quaint, hideaway, country restaurant space must-goes. Do yourself a favour.

What’s not to like !?? Been many times but was inspired to actually write a review . Decided to have the Bombay breakfast rather than the more typical farm breakfast. It was delicious - with sliced Dahl - flaky roti ( which were yummy ) and poached eggs plus a sage and apple sausage. View from are table were STUNNING. Service was prompt and polite. This is a real resident gem - god knows how everyone found it but they do ! Totally recommend.

You couldn't paint a more perfect spot for lunch. Smiling waiters, chatty owner, delicious yet unpretentious food, and that heart-stopping view. Those rolling hills definitely have something Tuscan about them. Why fly to Italy if you can drive from Cape Town?

Disappointing experience. I was very much looking forward to visiting this farm but it was mediocre at best, Our food took over an hour to get, and when it arrived, we had no cutlery. Our wine (Rosé) started getting warm as there was no wine bucket to keep it chilled. The lunch menu is limited and no options for kids. There was some women’s day event and the owner seemed more concerned with keeping the stall owners happy than attending to the restaurant guests. It was cramped and no place for children to play. We had to order dessert ourselves from the front as no one checked to see whether we needed anything else once the order was placed, To be honest it seemed very disorganised and trying too hard to be like an English countryside lunch place ( mostly middle aged ladies wearing floral). If this is your vibe then it’s perhaps the right place for you . However, the food was pretty decent. Though, there are many other farms and vineyards in the area that serve good quality food with better and more authentic service.

Dear Lezel, Many thanks for taking the time to write your review. I must admit we were very disheartened by your harsh criticism and really do apologise that you did not enjoy your time with us. To be honest we were completely overrun not expecting the turnout we received on the day...it was the week of the taxi strikes and we were not prepared for amount people to come to our shed! But we have taken our learnings and now know what needs to be done for the next one. Glad to hear you enjoyed our delicious food!

Very good lunch on a hot day so we both settled for salads. Temperature was mid 30's so we sat just inside with a fan trying to cool us down. I had a daily special, a summer salad which was refreshing and filling. Wife had the Caesar salad which met all expectations. Wine was a local Paul Wallace sauvignon blanc. Great views. Good service and pleasant staff all made this a very good lunch.

Beautiful setting with a good breakfast and lunch venue. Small restaurant in beautiful location with good food and service. Enjoyed the food and was even allowed to take our dog inside. Nice salad and veggie bowl.
